🏃‍♂️🏅 Sports Day Wrap-Up 🏅🏃‍♀️

A big thank you to Bloomsbury State School for hosting another fantastic Sports Day!

The weather certainly kept us all on our toes, but our little sports stars shone brightly all day long, giving every event their best effort. 🌟

Congratulations to the Bloomsbury State School P&C for providing such delicious lunch options — they were a huge hit! 🥙 🍎🧁

And finally, thank you to everyone who stopped by and bought an icy pole from us. Your support is always greatly appreciated and every purchase helps our P&C continue to support our school community. 🧊💛

Now the countdown is on until Friday when we find out the results... 👀🏆

Not only will they help keep you cool, but we're pretty sure they add at least 10% extra speed on the track... no guarantees though! 😂🏃‍♂️💨

Congratulations to Coningsby State School on a very successful Under 8s day - there were so many happy faces!!

So impressed by the incredible amount of things for the kids to do including:

A big congratulations to the Coningsby State School P&C also on their sausage sizzle & bake stall - it’s a big effort but we hope it had a big reward!! The sausages were delicious and there was such an impressive variety of sweet treats. Well done!! 👏

Our Memory Wall turned out to be a masterpiece, if we do say so ourselves! 💛🌸

Handcrafted from recycled timber, it was brought to life with beautiful flowers painstakingly made by the students of Pindi Pindi State School, with plenty of help from the fabulous Miss Marcie (who may have also found herself making a few paper flowers at home after hours! 😉).

The finishing touch came from the faux flowers kindly donated by RSL St Helens Sub Branch Inc, adding even more colour and meaning to this special display.

Throughout the morning, guests were invited to add photos and the names of loved ones affected by cancer, creating a touching tribute filled with remembrance, hope and community spirit.🎗️

The meeting will be held in the BER room - we invite everyone to enjoy a tea/coffee afterwards.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the local Country Women’s Association (CWA) branch in Calen for their generous support of our Biggest Morning Tea and cent sale. Their contribution of prizes for the cent sale was very heartfelt, and we are truly grateful for their kindness and community spirit.

We encourage everyone to recognise and appreciate the invaluable work that the CWA Calen branch does, not just for our events but for the empowerment of women and the community as a whole. 💙

We’re excited to share that the wonderful Pindi Pindi State School P&C will be selling icy poles at our Top End Cluster Athletics Carnival for just $1.50 each! ☀️💙

Be sure to bring along some coins so the kids can grab a refreshing treat while enjoying all the fun and excitement of the day! 😋

We are so grateful to have another amazing local small school to work alongside and create these fun-filled days with. Community connections like this make these events extra special for our students, families and staff 💛

Throwback to this time last week — what a day!! ☀️💛

We couldn’t have asked for better weather, the vibe was high, the hall was buzzing, and the generosity of our community was on full display.

An event of this scale is certainly a group effort and our thank you list is long!!

💛 To Pindi Pindi State School for their support and the resources provided to help organise the event — thank you!

💛 To our P&C Executive and members who gave up countless hours of personal time to plan, organise and volunteer on the day — thank you!

💛 To all of the generous souls in our community who donated prizes for our cent sale — thank you!

💛 To the Yalboroo Hall Committee for co-hosting the event and providing such a fantastic venue — thank you!

💛 To everyone who baked delicious goodies for us to enjoy — thank you!

💛 To our students and their parents who ran the soft drink stall — thank you!

💛 To the children who helped hand out prizes with big smiles on their faces — thank you!

💛 To the many volunteers who took care of all the invisible (but essential!) jobs — collecting donations, picking up prizes, washing dishes, pouring teapots, laundering tablecloths and everything else in between — we see you and we appreciate you!

💛 And finally, to every single person who attended our Biggest Morning Tea — thank you. Whether you bought a raffle ticket, enjoyed a cuppa, donated a prize, baked a cake, volunteered your time or simply came along to support the cause, you helped make the day a huge success.

We would once again like to thank all of the businesses who donated. We are incredibly grateful to be part of a community where locals support locals.

We wanted to give a shout out to CAMA 3D, who very generously offered FREE cookie cutters to help support Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. 🫖

Her gorgeous design added a special touch to the event, serving as a delightful reminder of our collective purpose for gathering together.

The beautifully crafted cookie cutter not only elevated our bake table but also bought joy & creativity to our fundraising effort. Best of all we can use it again next year! Thanks CAMA 3D for helping us to make a difference 💛

⭐️ Local Business Spotlight ⭐️

Owned & operated by two local legends, Ashley Westcott & Zoe Simpson, ABW Field Service has been servicing the local area for over 17 years.

Their community spirit knows no bounds, and they have continued to support our Biggest Morning Tea for many years. This year, they generously donated a beautiful 3-piece bistro set for our snap raffle — which the Durnsford family were lucky enough to take home! 🎉

We’ve also been lucky enough to have Ash help out on his trusty digger to spread the sand in our new playground, and we can confirm it’s an absolute ripper! Available for both wet or dry hire, make sure to contact ABW Field Service for all your mini digger needs 👷‍♂️
