To the 205 followers that started following my new page as without my personal profile I could not get to my original one, thank you.

META have now finally restored my personal profile so I’ve got access to my other page and hopefully this will not be needed but as it’s started it makes a good backup.

Communications from me will now be on my original page but thank you for following me over the last few weeks here.
Helen

Have your say on the City’s Neerabup Resource Recovery Precinct! 📢

The City of Wanneroo has released concept plans for its proposed Neerabup Resource Recovery Precinct – a modern, purpose-built facility focused on recycling, reuse and resource recovery.

The 30-hectare precinct will bring together all of the City’s waste services in one location, using best-practice design and advanced technology to recover valuable materials and reduce the environmental impacts of waste.

Quinns Parking. Notification of event traffic management temporary parking. Ocean Drive Quinn’s Rocks.

Below for transparency is the exact wording sent in a letter to residents from city administration. I understand many residebts are disappointed and concerned with this proposal.

The City of Wanneroo (the City) is planning to provide additional parking along Ocean Drive in Quinns Rocks, between Quinns Road and Hall Road, from 2 November to 29 March 2026.
Recognising the high demand for parking for Quinns Beach on Sunday mornings and public holidays, the City will provide additional temporary visitor parking along Ocean Drive between 8am and 1pm on these days.
The City intends to close the western (beachside) carriageway to traffic and make this lane available for parking. Ocean Drive will temporarily become a northbound one-way traffic zone from Quinns Road to Hall Road.
Properties on Ocean Drive can still be accessed from the south. Temporary traffic
management will be implemented to divert southbound traffic onto Hall Road, Beverley
Crescent and Burt Street. During this period the City encourages residents and visitors to plan ahead and use the designated parking areas.
Please refer to the attached map showing available parking areas, which is also available on the City’s website:
https://yoursay.wanneroo.wa.gov.au/quinns-mindarie-peak-period-parking
Should you have any further queries regarding this matter, please contact City’s Traffic Services team on telephone 9405 5000.

I'm over the moon and pleased to confirm I've been re-elected with a clear majority as your Central Ward Councillor. Thank you to everyone who voted. Whether you voted for me or not, I will as your voice on council continue to represent all residents with honesty, integrity and to the best of my ability.

I would like to thank Harry, Shahid & Tony the other candidates who provided residents a choice. It takes courage to put your hand up and run a campaign.

Total votes were 5217 of which 28 were informal leaving 5189 valid votes. To get an absolute majority without the need of preferences 2595 votes were required. We were just 24 votes short.

The voting results for first preferences were
Helen Berry - 2,571 votes (49.54%)
Tony Papafilis - 1318 votes (25.39%)
Harry Turnbull - 1134 votes (21.85%) and
Shahid Rafiqi - 166 votes (0.31%) 108 of Shahid's votes had a second preference so they were then distributed to Helen Tony and Harry to get to the 2595 votes required.

After the 108 votes were distributed the results were
Helen Berry - 2,614 votes (50.90%)
Tony Papafilis - 1343 votes (26.15%)
Harry Turnbull - 1179 votes (22.96%)

I look forward to continuing with business as normal and resident requests from tree issues, to speed hump requests, to pickleball line marking requests have already been submitted to administration.

As always I will update this new page and there is a new group so community clubs and groups can post their events, fundraisers etc.

Apologies it has taken a few days to connect, like thousands of other people I have had a few social media challenges.

Thank you again everyone. Helen
