We're asking you to make a promise, to your mum, to your dad, your brother, your sister, your best friend, even to yourself. It could be a promise to slow-down, or not to drink and drive, or even a promise to stay alert while your friend is driving. We're asking you to make a promise about road safety, We're asking you to save a life. Because "it's never going to happen to you", until one day it
does. Drive the promise is a movement dedicated to changing the way we as a society think about reckless driving and realising the real consequence of our actions. We are a society that slows down only when there
is danger of a speed camera or police in the area. Most of us have at one time or another texted, called
or taken a “selfie” while driving. And some of us have
chosen to drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The risk assessment is less about “will I hurt someone” but more so “will I get caught”
Our excuse? “Everybody does it.”
This movement is here to change that mindset, we want to show Australian’s young and old the real heartache caused by the decisions “everybody” makes. As drivers we need to look up,sober up, slow down and as passengers we need to speak up.
