“Good design for people living with dementia entails respecting their dignity, autonomy, independence, equality of opportunity and non-discrimination.”

Dementia Alliance International has released a great video resource on the Dignity Manifesto. It explains how the places we live in, visit and use every day can support people living with dementia, and introduces the Manifesto’s core values and principles in an accessible way. Tangles made its Cannes debut and yes, there were tears. 😭

The animated film, co-produced by HFC co-founders Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen, tells the story of a young woman navigating her mother’s Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis.

Directed by Leah Nelson, Tangles is based on Sarah Leavitt’s 2010 graphic memoir Tangles: A Story About Alzheimer’s, My Mother and Me. Including the voice talents of Seth Rogen, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Pamela Adlon, Beanie Feldstein, Sarah Silverman, Abbi Jacobson, Samira Wiley, Wanda Sykes, Adam Shapiro, and Bowen Yang.

Stories like this matter. Alzheimer’s is more than a statistic. It’s love, loss, and the deeply human reality of caring for someone you love.
