Our residents recently enjoyed a wonderful day out to Scarborough Beach, where they soaked up the fresh sea breeze and shared a delicious lunch at Peters by the Sea.

From the stunning ocean views to great conversation and plenty of laughter, it was a simple outing that created lasting memories. These moments of connection, fresh air and shared experiences are an important part of life at Hellenic Community Aged Care, helping our residents stay active, engaged and connected to the wider community.

Last Friday, we had the wonderful privilege of celebrating a truly remarkable milestone as our beloved resident, Lien marked her 100th birthday surrounded by family, fellow residents and staff. 🎂

The room was filled with smiles, laughter and heartfelt wishes as we came together to honour a century of memories, experiences and achievements. It was especially lovely to have Lien's family join us for the occasion, making the celebration even more meaningful.

On behalf of everyone at Hellenic Community Aged Care, we wish Lien a very happy 100th birthday and thank her for sharing this special day with us. 💙

Viva l’Italia libera! This Tuesday our splendid team members Silvana and Rahel put on a sumptuous high tea celebration to celebrate Italy’s National Day on June 2nd.

As we tucked into the high tea we chatted about memories of Italy, where our Italian residents were born and where their families hailed from.

Our warm thanks to Mario, Rosa, Silvana and especially Giovanni who sang the Italian anthem with gusto – for sharing their special memories of their culture and heritage with us. Buona Festa della Repubblica!

Photos in! Due to the bad weather, we couldn’t not carry out our annual WA Day BBQ outside – so with a bit of Aussie ingenuity (and some warmly wrapped-up BBQ chefs) we brought the BBQ in to our residents. On the day we also celebrated the lovely Elizabeth, originally from Congo, who turned 81!

🌱✨ Growing Together at Hellenic Community Aged Care ✨🌱
Our gardens are truly flourishing thanks to our incredible onsite gardeners, Petros and Sharon, whose creativity and care have brought our outdoor spaces to life with beautiful landscaping and vibrant floral displays. And now, Sharon has taken things one step further — launching a wonderful new Gardening Club for our residents!

At last week’s inaugural session, residents got hands-on planting their very own herb seedlings. From gently digging into the soil, to carefully potting their plants and giving them a light watering, the joy of gardening was felt by all. 🌿
The session sparked lively discussions about the best pot sizes for thriving coriander and parsley, as well as tips on fertilisers — and we were delighted to hear from residents who generously shared their expertise. One former local market gardener and another resident with farming experience offered invaluable insights, enriching the group with their years of knowledge and passion.
Beyond the practical tips, the club also blossomed into beautiful conversations about past gardens, favourite plants, and cherished memories.
We’re so proud of Sharon for bringing this initiative to life and can’t wait to see our Gardening Club — and our residents’ herb gardens — continue to grow! 🌼💚

This National Volunteer Week, we were proud to celebrate the incredible volunteers who generously dedicate their time, compassion and care to our residents and wider community. 💙

To thank our wonderful volunteers, our Occupational Therapy team prepared a lovely afternoon tea spread for everyone to enjoy together. It was a small way to show our appreciation for the kindness, warmth and support our volunteers continue to give so generously.

Yesterday, we celebrated our incredible nursing team with a lovely afternoon breakfast tea to celebrate International Nurses Day. 💙☕🧁

With delicious pastries and cakes, thoughtful gifts and plenty of laughs shared, it was a small token of appreciation for the nurses who work tirelessly every day to keep our operations running smoothly and provide exceptional care to our residents.

Their compassion, dedication and hard work never go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for everything they do to make Hellenic Community Aged Care feel like home . ✨
