EXERCISE APEX AMPHIBIAN 2026
26-28/06/2026

Cadets of 58ACU spent the weekend at the Bindoon Training Area participating in immersive scenario-based survival, engineering, first aid, navigation, and radiotelecommunications training, honing their skills while attempting to rescue the Unit’s mascot Kermit the Frog!
Despite treacherous weather conditions, cadets persevered, retrieving Kermit and successfully arriving at the extraction point before enjoying a well-deserved visit to the Bindoon Bakery. Well done 3 Section members who performed the best overall! Congratulations to our award recipients and all cadets who were awarded their Unit patch in recognition of successfully completing the Unit Field Ex Challenge.

ANZAC Day Overnight Vigil
24/04/2026 - 25/04/2026
Cadets of 58ACU gathered at the Vietnam Veteran’s war memorial in Kings Park to conduct an overnight vigil and morning service in remembrance of those Vietnam Veterans and all ANZACs who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Well done to the many that also attended the St. George’s Terrace city march in the Perth CBD.

Lest we forget.

The Ode
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.

Cadets woke early on Sunday to conduct a river crossing over the Helena River, followed by a challenge track staggered with activities that tested members on their knowledge from the previous day’s lessons.
