Suzuki Music WA Information for parents, students and teachers of the Suzuki Method in WA. Run by STEAA(WA), the Suzuki Talent Education Association of Western Australia.

We are an association of music teachers and parents who follow the “Mother Tongue” method of music teaching developed by Dr Shinichi Suzuki. The main aim of Suzuki education is to help all children develop sensitivity and an appreciation of music for the rest of their life. The Suzuki method of learning provides the opportunity for children from a very young age to get together and play together as the repertoire is common to them all. Our students in Perth, Western Australia benefit greatly from these experiences. The STEAA(WA) offers tuition in the following areas:

Early Childhood Education
Violin
Viola
Cello
Piano
Guitar
Flute

Most of us have seen the quote by Dr. Suzuki: 'Beautiful tone, beautiful heart.' Did you know there is an entire 1-hour video where he teaches components of a beautiful tone? See it here: https://internationalsuzuki.org/guidance/video-5

As we celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Suzuki Method and begin looking ahead toward its 100th Anniversary, this is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what the Suzuki Method has meant to each of us, and what we hope it will become for future generations.

Talent Education Research Institute (TERI - Japan) is inviting members of the global Suzuki community to share a Message for the Future" Whether you are a student, parent, teacher, alumni, or supporter, your perspective is an important part of the story.

You are invited to share:
• What you have gained from learning through the Suzuki Method.
• What you value most in music education.
• Your hopes for the future of the Suzuki Method.
• What you hope the Suzuki Method will be like by its 100th anniversary.
• A message you would like to leave for future generations.

Selected submissions may be published in TERI's official journal, Monthly Suzuki, and other related publications, helping to inspire and guide the next generation of the Suzuki community around the world.

🗓 Submission deadline: September 10, 2026

Bravo to our young cellists, teachers and families on a beautiful Cello Graduation Concert - the first of two String Graduation concerts to be held this year.

Very proud of all our students all year round, but especially at STEAA(WA) Cello Graduation Concert. Congratulations to all our Graduates and our guest performers! What a beautiful concert full of joy and beautiful music prepared with such care. Faure, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Paganini, Bach, Saint-Saens and Shinichi Suzuki would be thrilled to hear their music performed with such technical and musical progress. Well done!
