New research from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the University of Haifa shows teachers working in wartime conditions rely on a psychological “buffer” against exhaustion.

The key factor is cognitive reappraisal - the ability to mentally reframe stressful situations in a more manageable way. Teachers who used this strategy experienced lower burnout and better emotional resilience, even during prolonged crisis. The findings suggest resilience isn’t just something you have - it’s something that can be developed.

Fatty liver disease affects 1 in 3 adults worldwide — but new research is pointing to an unexpected ally 🌱
Scientists from the The Hebrew University of Jerusalem have found that non-intoxicating cannabis compounds (CBD & CBG) may help reduce liver fat, improve metabolism, and restore how the liver processes energy and waste. Even more interesting? These compounds don’t cause a “high” — and could offer a plant-based pathway for future treatments.

⚠️ It’s still early-stage research (mainly in animal models), so more human studies are needed — but the potential is promising.

Professor Avi Rivkind of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem has been awarded the Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement - Israel’s highest civilian honour. The award highlights decades of leadership in building Israel’s national trauma system, pioneering life-saving medical approaches, and training generations of healthcare professionals.
