Australian Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Supporting academic excellence in Israel: Join us in fostering research, innovation, and education.

Founded in Sydney in May 1936 by Ruby Rich (later Ruby Rich-Schalit MBE), the Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem was established for the benefit of the Hebrew University. Our aims and objectives are:
•To bring the name of the Hebrew University to the fore, raising awareness within the Jewish and general Australian community of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and its academic and res

earch excellence
•To raise funds and encourage bequests in support of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, both for specific projects and for the general purposes of the University
•To provide a medium for the exchange of information and literature between Australia and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem
•To encourage and assist Australian students wishing to undertake study at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem

Join Prof. U*i Rebhun of the Hebrew University and Dr David Graham, Lead Researcher of GEN26, in conversation with Lynda Ben-Menashe for Israel’s Future... And Ours.

New research from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the University of Haifa shows teachers working in wartime conditions rely on a psychological “buffer” against exhaustion.

The key factor is cognitive reappraisal - the ability to mentally reframe stressful situations in a more manageable way. Teachers who used this strategy experienced lower burnout and better emotional resilience, even during prolonged crisis. The findings suggest resilience isn’t just something you have - it’s something that can be developed.
