That is a wrap on Friday Flippaball for another fantastic season! ✅💫

We would like to thank all the players, coaches and team managers for supporting our community water polo program this summer.

Our Flippaball program focuses on fun, fitness and friendships as an introduction to the great sport of water polo. We love seeing the smiles pool side each week as the children learn new skills and confidence in the water.

We look forward to welcoming you all back poolside next summer!! 😎☀️💦

TOM HOAD AM || May Campbell Medal Recipient 2026.

For our Melville community, this honour feels deeply personal.

Tom is the second Melville Club member to be recognised with this accolade for their incredible impact on the sport of Water Polo on Western Australia and Australia, with David Neesham OAM being recognised in 2024.

Tom has been a cornerstone of Melville Water Polo for decades — not just through his personal playing or coaching achievements, but through the people he has shaped, supported, and inspired.

The May Campbell Medal recognises extraordinary service to Australian water polo, and there are few more deserving recipients.

Generations of athletes have benefited from Tom’s knowledge, leadership, and belief in what this club and our Country could become.

His legacy is not only in medals or results — it lives in the culture, standards, and spirit of Melville and Australian Water Polo.

We are proud, grateful, and honoured to celebrate this moment with you.

International Water Polo in Perth! 🤽🏻‍♂️🇦🇺🇭🇺

We are excited to welcome Fehérvár Water Polo from Hungary to Fremantle! This is a young and dynamic club with outstanding junior success. Fehérvár is home to multiple prospects for the Hungarian national team.

Our Melville and Fremantle athletes will join Fehérvár in a two week intensive training camp sharing skills in a world-class water polo experience.

This is an incredible opportunity for our athletes to test themselves against one of Europe’s rising programs.

FREO MARLINS | Some of our Marlins took the opportunity to participate in the Felipe Perrone Masterclass hosted by Water Polo WA.

This clinic was an amazing opportunity and great timing for the girls to hone their skills in preparation for the 2026 AWL season, commencing 14 January.

FELIPE PERRONE 🇪🇸 | Some lucky WA U20 athletes had an exclusive masterclass with Spanish champion Felipe Perrone this afternoon.

We are thrilled our athletes were able to participate in this incredible water polo clinic focusing on key fundamentals of the modern game.

A big thank you to and for facilitating such an incredible opportunity for our athletes.

MASTERCLASS || WA Water Polo athletes have an incredible opportunity to participate in exclusive skills clinics led by the legendary Felipe Perrone.

Felipe Perrone is a Brazilian-born Spanish Water polo player with a long list of international achievements. He has competed for Spain at 5 Olympic Games and 13 World Championships. 🇪🇸🏆🏆

Felipe was the Captain of the gold-medal winning Spanish team at the 2025 World Aquatic Water Polo Championships held in Singapore in July 2025.
