College of Lactation Consultants WA

College of Lactation Consultants WA To support and promote breastfeeding, foster friendships and provide monthly education meetings for health professionals.

The College of Lactation Consultants Western Australia is an association that caters for IBCLCs primarily. However, all health professionals and those who work with grass roots organisations who are committed to breastfeeding find the educational program meets a high standard. The College was founded in 1998 to support and promote breastfeeding, foster friendships and provide monthly education mee

tings for health professionals. Providing international and national speakers at biannual conferences has also been a major component of the College services. Core business of the college however is the monthly education meetings which are held on the third Monday of each month February to November of each year. The business part of the meeting is kept very short and held from 6.45pm until 7.15pm. Following this, light refreshments are available between 7.15pm and 7.30pm and this is an ideal time to catch up with colleagues, friends and newcomers. The education session follows this short break and runs from 7.30pm until 8.30pm. The meetings are currently held at
Ngala - Meeting Room 1
9 George Street
Kensington
Enter at the door to left of the main entrance. The monthly meetings held at Ngala are free to members however non-members can attend for a fee of $15.00. A certificate of attendance is issued at all education meetings so those who are IBCLCs can claim Continuing Education Recognition Points(CERPs). These meetings are also suitable for those studying to become IBCLCs to claim as continuing education hours. We look forward to seeing you at the next monthly meeting.
