Celebrating Mother’s Day at MercyCare Early Learning 💐

At MercyCare Banksia Grove Early Learning Centre, children created heartfelt artworks to celebrate the important people in their lives, exploring creativity through hands-on play.

Families at MercyCare Thornlie Early Learning Centre also came together for a special Mother’s Day celebration filled with activities, laughter, photo booth fun and light refreshments.

🧸 Big news! MercyCare is the first early learning provider in Australia to bring the Tedology "Smart Teddy" initiative to all our Early Learning Centres - and we made the Channel 7 news!

Developed by a clinical psychologist Dr Louise Mansell this sensory teddy bear helps preschoolers explore and regulate their emotions through calming, guided activities.

At MercyCare, early intervention is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that by giving children the right tools and support from their very earliest years, we set them up to feel safe, understood, and ready to thrive. 💛

One rainy morning, the children and educators at Thornlie had an opportunity to suit up in their rain jackets and explore the centre in the rain. 🌧

The children quickly adapted to the change in weather and routine, engaging in a unique activity whilst having fun with their peers.

They also learnt about sustainability by collecting rain water into different sized containers. Exploring different sensory experiences with sand, natural materials and our recycled rain water.

As a WA-based, not-for-profit organisation, MercyCare is here to support families during this time.

We currently have limited places available across a number of our centres, with caring educators ready to welcome your child into a safe, nurturing environment.

To make the transition easier, we're offering a 50% discount for the first 2 weeks plus waiving the enrolment fee for families affected by G8 closures.

Getting out in nature at Wembley ELC 🌿

The children at Wembley have been making the most of the outdoors, especially during Nature Play Week. Using soft playdough alongside natural materials like leaves, they explored textures, shapes and creativity in a hands-on way.

They also enjoyed collecting leaves, flowers and even bananas from the garden, connecting with the natural environment around them.

As part of our Kiddo Program, the children brought their imaginations to life through Animal Walks - stomping like dinosaurs and stepping confidently through the grass as they embraced the joy of active play.
