Transplant Australia WA

Transplant Australia WA The official page of the Western Australian Committee of Transplant Australia We provide an annual calendar of social events, camps and meetings.

Transplant Australia WA is the official page of the Western Australian Committee of Transplant Australia. We work with other state Committees and Transplant Australia to make the most of life and help our community in Western Australia on their transplant, donor family or living donor journey. Education and helping recipients adjust to a life with a transplant is a key pillar of our work.

Providing opportunities for recipients to speak to each other about their experiences is just as important. We are proud to rollout the Transplant Active program in WA to help everyone improve their fitness, their mental wellbeing and involvement in their community. Most importantly we provide opportunities for our community to celebrate the gift life and thank all those who made it possible. And being part of the officially-recognised transplant sports organisation in Australia means that all of our activities are conducted in an inclusive, safe and positive environment underpinned by a Member Protection Policy and policies safeguarding children, vulnerable people and the use of social media. Transplant Australia Social Media Guidelines

Transplant Australia aims to ensure its social media pages, including all affiliated Transplant State and Event pages are safe and supportive places at all times. They aim to bring our community together to celebrate life, thank those who made it happen, and help people on their transplant journey. Transplant Australia welcomes honest, friendly, and open conversation on our social media page and we reserve the right to remove content or discussion posts in line with these guidelines. Responses will not always be provided as to why posts are deleted. We reserve the right to delete content that;
• Is deemed offensive, abusive, defamatory, objectionable, spamming, inaccurate, false, misleading, misrepresentative or off-topic from the original post,
• damages or diminishes the reputation of Transplant Australia and/or any of its events or programs,
• causes insult, intimidation or humiliation to Transplant Australia members, the organization, sponsors, staff and volunteers. We do not allow advertising of other businesses, campaigns and/or advocates without prior approval. Please do not share or tag other pages/groups/businesses that are offering the same services as ours and/or do not align to the position of Transplant Australia. We will only allow groups and pages that are run by health or sports professionals or like organisations to be shared following a review to understand the values of those groups or pages. People who are continually detrimental to others’ enjoyment of this page risk being permanently removed. As a National Sporting Organisation with a Disability, recognised by the Australian Sports Commission, and as a DonateLife Partner we are obliged to uphold standards expected of us and our members. While we welcome open discussion about organ donation policy we ask members to consider that public criticism of organ donation policy can undermine public confidence in organ donation and the goals of Transplant Australia, and may be removed from this page at our discretion. TA Members are also bound by the Member Protection Policy and Social Media Policy - https://transplant.org.au/members/

Thank-you all for your support. Let’s be positive and ‘make the most of life’.

💐Mother’s Day-Transplant Australia WA💐

Last Sunday, this family came together at the Busselton Festival of Triathlon to celebrate the gift of life and Keiran’s 8-year kidney transplant anniversary. 💛

Today, on Mother’s Day, we reflect on the extraordinary bonds that make families so special. Patricia Watts — lovingly known as ‘Ma’ — is not only Keiran’s kidney donor, but also his mum’s lifelong friend and part of a connection shared across generations.

Pat, Keiran’s mum, and Keiran’s wife’s mum have been lifelong friends, while Pat’s daughter is one of Keiran’s wife’s closest friends. Their families have shared a special bond for many years, making the gift of life even more meaningful.

Eight years ago, Patricia gave Keiran the gift of life through kidney donation, creating a bond that goes far beyond friendship — one built on love, gratitude, family, and second chances. Today, Keiran celebrates that gift alongside Emelia and those closest to him.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate all mothers, mother figures, donors, and lifelong friends who help make life’s most precious moments possible. 🌸

🎉 Congratulations Lesly! 🎉

On Tuesday 14th April, Lesly competed in the Avon Valley Bowling League Novice Championship — and what an achievement it was!

After playing three strong games to qualify, Lesly went on to the Championship match, securing a fantastic 17–14 win in a hard-fought final. 💪

An incredible result, especially in only her second year of playing bowls — a true testament to her dedication and skill.

Well done Lesly, a brilliant achievement! Goodluck at the Australian Open Bowls later this year.👏💛

Horses, heart, and a life-saving message 💛

Last week at the Strides Swan Valley Tack Exchange Show Jumping Event, riders took on more than just jumps — they helped raise awareness for organ and tissue donation.

With a dedicated DonateLife jump in the arena, the day sparked important conversations and around for a meaningful cause.

A special shoutout to Caidee, who helped organise the event and spent the day sharing DonateLife information with attendees 👏
