Ready to take the next step in your brewing career? Indian Ocean Brewing Co. at The Marina Mindarie is looking for a hands-on and enthusiastic Assistant Brewer to join their team.

Working alongside the Head Brewer, you’ll be involved across brewing, fermentation, packaging, quality control and day-to-day brewery operations, with plenty of opportunity to develop your skills.

🌾 What happens when WA grain meets a local maltster?

This week we headed out to Loam Malt Studio to see how locally grown grain is turned into malt and got a fascinating look at everything that happens along the way.

From heritage barley and different farming approaches to small-batch specialty malts, roasting experiments and the challenges of making malt here in WA, there’s plenty to get a brewer thinking.

Watch this space! WA B**r & Brewing Education & Training Grant applications open soon!

WABA has teamed up once again with Ellerslie Hops Australia to offer two WA brewers the chance to join an all expenses paid education tour across SA and VIC during the 2027 hop harvest.

This is a unique opportunity to deepen your brewing knowledge with hands on experience at maltings, hop farms and more!

Applications will open from the 28th Sept and close on the 5th Oct and are open to employees of WABA member breweries with at least two years of industry experience.
