No sporting background? No problem!

If you’re aged 13+ and have, or think you may have, an impairment eligible for Para sport, this could be your opportunity to get identified and connected with Paralympic pathways across Australia! 🙌

ALL IN for Reconciliation.

At Blind Sports WA, we see every day how sport brings people together.

Across courts, fields, greens, dance floors and walking tracks, people connect through teamwork, respect, laughter and shared experience.

National Reconciliation Week reminds us that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility. It happens through listening, learning, showing up, and creating spaces where everyone belongs.

We are proud to stand alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, and we remain committed to building inclusive spaces where connection and belonging can grow through sport and recreation.

Because reconciliation is not something we watch from the sidelines.

We’re all in.

We were so proud to be recognised, alongside Kalamunda Cricket Club last night.

Thank you to Kalamunda Cricket Club WACA - Western Australian Cricket Association and all of our wonderful volunteers and supporters.

Western Australian community cricket has been recognised on the national stage, with four WA initiatives named national winners and six additional programs and individuals earning Highly Commended recognition at the 10th annual National Community Cricket Awards.

Presented by Cricket Australia during National Volunteer Week and celebrated locally during a presentation evening at the WACA Ground on Monday, the awards celebrate the individuals, clubs and organisations helping grassroots cricket thrive across the country.

WA was represented among the national winners through the achievements of Metropolitan Junior Community Cricket (MJCC), Rockingham Hornets Cricket Club, Kalamunda Cricket Club in partnership with Blind Sports WA, and the City of Rockingham for the Stan Twight Reserve redevelopment.

This National Volunteer Week, Blind Sports WA celebrates the incredible people who help make our community what it is.

To the tandem pilots riding kilometre after kilometre beside our cyclists.
To the golf caddies walking the course in all weather.
To the bowls directors guiding play and creating welcoming spaces.
To the dance partners moving in rhythm and trust.
To the running guides keeping pace and keeping us safe.
To the cricket scorers, tennis guides, soccer assistants, callers, marshals, and coaches.
To the drivers, event helpers, committee members, parents, officials, and quiet behind-the-scenes legends.

Thank you.

Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, car rides, encouragement, patience, laughter, flexibility, and belief in people.

You help create far more than sport.

You create confidence.
Friendship.
Independence.
Connection.
Belonging.

Sport is just the start.

And if you’ve ever thought about getting involved - maybe this is your year to volunteer.
