Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming The Hon Jason Clare MP Minister for Education, Dr. Tony Buti MLA Attorney General; Minister for Commerce; Tertiary and International Education; Multicultural Interests, The Hon Matt Keogh MP and Mayor Ruth Butterfield - City of Armadale to the Armadale University Study Hub🎓

The visit was a chance to see the Hub in action, chat with students and staff, and connect with our university partners from The University of Western Australia and Curtin University who were onsite providing course and career advice.

One of the most playful parts of the morning was showcasing the Hub’s creche space 👶💙 - a practical and incredible support helping students balance study, family and life commitments while continuing their education close to home.

This space is about so much more than desks and Wi Fi. It’s about helping people feel supported, connected and confident to pursue higher education here in Armadale.

T’was a lovely morning and a proud moment for everyone involved ✨

Meet Rebecca👋 Our Study Hub Lead

Rebecca brings over 30 years of experience across youth, community and education sectors in both the UK and Australia, supporting people to access opportunities and achieve their goals.

Rebecca’s own journey into higher education was non-traditional, leaving school at 14 she later accessed university through a 10-week enabling program, leading directly into a Master’s Degree at Durham University. As a first-in-family student, she understands that there isn’t just one path into education, and that the journey looks different for everyone. Rebecca is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive space where people of all ages and backgrounds can study, connect, and succeed.

Fun fact: Rebecca loves to travel, and after moving to Australia, travelled by car across five states with her three children before finally settling in Western Australia 🌏🚗

Australia’s national quality regulator for higher education is expanding the student voices they engage, beyond elected student representatives.

TEQSA is seeking expressions of interest from students for its first Student Advisory Panel. Students selected as panel members will discuss matters that affect real student experiences and be paid an honorarium.
