DO YOU THINK PROPERTY DEVELOPERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE DONATIONS TO POLITICAL PARTIES?🤔

If your answer is NO! then please sign the ePetition below☺️

It's time to put community interests first in Western Australia. By banning property developer donations to political parties, we can ensure that our government works for the people, not just powerful developers.

💡 Why This Matters:

Protect Community Interests: Prevent conflicts of interest that can lead to decisions favouring developers over local communities👨‍👩‍👧‍👧

Promote Transparency: Ensure that political decisions are made with transparency, free from the influence of big money💰

Strengthen Democracy: A recent report by the Centre for Public Integrity report said that the access to politicians bought by developers weakened public confidence in Australia's democracy.

"The enormous amounts donated by a sector whose existence depends on the issuing of government permits is highly problematic for public trust in the democratic process," it said.

Let's join NSW and QLD and say NO to developer donations to political parties!🙌

MT CLAREMONT FIELDS SAVED - ONE YEAR ON!!!!🙌🙌🙌

On this day, one year ago, it was publicly announced that the State Government had rejected the Section 76 application by Christ Church Grammar School to rezone the Mt Claremont Playing Fields to make way for housing development.

It was a David VS Goliath battle which raged for two long and very stressful years, finally resulting in a win for the community!💪

The Friends of Mt Claremont Fields will forever be grateful to Rita Saffioti MLA, her colleague Dr Katrina Stratton MLA, Dr Brad Pettitt MLC, then Mayor of Town of Cambridge Keri Shannon and the ToC Councilors who unanimously voted against the scheme amendment request on 25th February, 2022 as well as the thousands of Western Australians who signed our petition in support of preserving this iconic and important open space🙏🙏🙏

🎶 On the tenth day of Christmas, community hand-in-hand: Mt Claremont sport fields saved, a victory so grand! ⚽🌟

As part of a dedicated team, we rallied together and successfully safeguarded the Mt Claremont playing fields from proposed development. Friends of Mt Claremont Fields collected over 5000 signatures on a petition and this collective effort ensured that the reserve remains a sports facility for all to enjoy.

This achievement stands as a testament to the power of community spirit and collaboration. By coming together, raising our voices, and standing strong, we've preserved a vital space for community sport.

McClemans Road and Fortview Road Mt Claremont were named by DFES as two of the streets on evacuation watch during last weekend’s bushfire🔥🔥🔥
Thank goodness for the excellent decision by Rita Saffioti MLA in preserving the Mt Claremont Fields which provide a buffer between residential housing and the “Extreme Flame Zone” of Bold Park😊🏡

A huge thank you to staff from Bold Park and Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA for their tireless work in controlling the fire that started Sunday night, limiting the damage to a 7.5ha area of bushland.
When Bold Park does reopen the trails near the fire site including Thornbill Walk & Banksia Walk will remain closed for post-fire management.

A fire started in Bold Park last night. Fire crews are on site and the fire is currently under control, but the park will remain closed today.
