TOTS Blanket Challenge

We have so many blankets to hang during our challenge resulting in us running out of space. So we contacted our trusty local Men's Shed who built this incredible display area on a pulley so that we can lower it to add the blankets and then hoist it up to display them.

Thank you so much to Heather for creating and sending in these beautiful squares!

They are now in the very capable hands of Linda who will combine them into what is sure to be a gorgeous blanket!

Have you got squares to send in? Although the challenge may be over, we receive squares all year round, so if you are in a crocheting or knitting mood, continue to make squares and we will be happy to count them for next year’s goal!

Grill'd regularly supports local charities by donating money through the purchases of food from their chains

There is just under 2 weeks to grab a juicy burger from and drop your bottle cap into our jar at the Grill'd restaurant located within the dining district of the Penrith Westfield.

Grill'd Penrith is fundraising for us for the month of August, so If you feel like taking a break from a home cooked meal, please consider heading on over to Grill'd, where you can donate your token to the !

Money raised through this initiative goes towards us being able to run the challenge again next year!

Boring stuff like insurance and website hosting, as well as exciting things like keeping our amazing Challenge Co-ordinator Ryan who manages all comms, socials, marketing etc.

A message from Cancer Wellness Support after our recent handover.

"On behalf of Cancer Wellness Support, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire TOTS Blanket Challenge community for the beautiful handmade blankets we were so fortunate to receive at last week’s handover.

Each of these blankets represents so much more than warmth. They are a wonderful expression of kindness, care and community, and we know they will bring great comfort to the clients and carers who receive them.

For people navigating a cancer diagnosis, and for the family members and carers supporting them, small gesture of care can have a very meaningful impact. Receiving something that has been lovingly handmade especially for someone in need, is a beautiful reminder that they are surrounded by a community that cares.

We would particularly like to thank you and the committee members who dedicate their time and energy to bringing the TOTS Blanket Challenge together each year. Your commitment makes this wonderful initiative possible.

Of course, our sincere gratitude go to the many talented volunteers who give so generously of their time to create these very special blankets. We appreciate the countless hours, skill and love that go into every blanket. Knowing that each one has been handmade with such thought and care makes them all the more special.

Cancer Wellness Support is incredibly grateful to be a recipient of your generosity and to have the opportunity to pass on these beautiful blankets to our clients and carers.
