Did you know that Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Governance is a global movement? 🌏 Australia may be a little behind, but we're rapidly making strides to catch up!

From April 1 to 3, 2025, we had the incredible opportunity to participate in the GIDSov Conference held on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country. This event brought together Indigenous Peoples from around the globe to celebrate our achievements and forge new pathways in advancing Indigenous Data Sovereignty. ✨

The first two days of the conference were a powerful space exclusively for Indigenous Peoples and communities, allowing for deep discussions, knowledge sharing, and the nurturing of connections. 🤝 It was inspiring to hear stories of resilience, innovation, and collaboration that have emerged over the past decade since the first Indigenous Data Sovereignty event. 🗣💡

On the final day, we welcomed governments and non-Indigenous organisations. The atmosphere was filled with hope and determination as we collectively envisioned a future where Indigenous Data Sovereignty is fully recognised and respected. 🌿

We left the conference feeling empowered and inspired by the commitment and passion of everyone involved. ❤️ The connections we made and the insights we gained will undoubtedly influence our ongoing efforts in advocating for Indigenous data rights and sovereignty.
