From Bipolar UK

"Many people in the bipolar community worry about money.

High moods can sometimes lead to impulsive spending, while low moods can lead to comfort spending.

This , we're raising awareness of the financial impact of bipolar and reminding our community that support is available."

BULLYING NO WAY WEEK
17TH TO 21ST AUGUST 2026

Extract from BEING - Mental Health Consumers Ltd
"Bullying No Way Week starts next Monday, an opportunity to reflect on the impact of bullying on young people especially on their mental health.

The theme "Small Acts, Big Impact" reminds us that small actions have impact and don’t need to be big to change someone’s world.

If you're an educator or a student, it's not too late to register for their free event toolkit which includes:
-curriculum-aligned classroom materials to help students explore this year’s theme
-daily messages and activities to promote kindness and inclusion throughout Bullying No Way Week
-bullying prevention resources to share with families and the broader school community."

International Youth Day πŸ§’πŸ‘§πŸ‘¦πŸ‘¦πŸ½πŸ‘§πŸΎ
12th August

International Youth Day was started by the United Nations and is celebrated annually on August 12th to recognise young people's achievements and amplify their voices, both of which are at the core of what ACN does.

At ACN, we recognise that our Youth are all unique in their own wonderful ways, and we celebrate the many talents they all have.

The theme for 2026 is, "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations", one that can be applied to all our members.

We believe our children and young adults are the future and as an organisation, nurture and support them to grow into their own selves πŸ’›

The NSW Government’s response to the Coronial Inquest into the deaths at Westfield Bondi Junction includes important reforms aimed at strengthening mental health support and improving access to care.

Several themes in the response echo what people across NSW told the Mental Health Commission through our What We Heard consultation, finalised in 2026.

More than 5,500 people and 400 organisations contributed, consistently highlighting the need for earlier access to support, better coordination between services, and stronger pathways for people living with severe and complex mental health challenges.

Acting Commissioner Julie Dixon said, β€œPeople told us they want a service system that can respond to their changing needs over time. Whether they are seeking early support or experiencing severe or complex mental health challenges, they want services that are flexible, connected and centred on the person.”

The consultation also highlighted the importance of integrated support across mental health, housing and community services. These insights are informing the development of the next NSW Mental Health and Wellbeing strategy.
