Our celebration also advocates for providing support and accommodations to neurodivergent individuals, enabling them to thrive in a society designed for the majority."

💙 MEN’S HEALTH WEEK STARTS MONDAY 💙
Men’s Health Week (15–21 June) is a reminder for all of us to pause and check in — on ourselves and on the men in our lives.

Too many men carry stress, pressure, grief, and worry in silence while still showing up for everyone else.

This week isn’t about doing everything at once.

It’s about small steps.

💙 Check in on a mate
💙 Book that appointment
💙 Get outside for a walk
💙 Start a conversation

Sometimes the simplest actions can change the direction someone is heading in.

I’ll be sharing a few reflections during the week — but for now, just a reminder:

You don’t have to wait for things to get bad before you take care of yourself.

Beautiful Minds Market Stall
Saturday 13 June 9am to 2pm

Our beautiful volunteers will be out this Saturday morning setting up the stall to raise funds for Banks House Mental Health Unit (Bankstown Hospital) and Aurora Recreation Club outreach services for the mental health community.

There will be wonderful crafted and new items for you to purchase to help raise funds for our local community.

Donations well appreciated!

It should be a gorgeous winter morning in the village to meet, grab a coffee ☕️ and chat with our friendly volunteers 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️

"📣 The ABC News Four Corners episode aired on 1 June exposed unacceptable police violence against mental health consumers. In response, BEING - Mental Health Consumers Ltd called on the NSW Government to end the over-criminalisation of mental health distress, fund alternatives to police responses, and improve training for police and ambulance.

The Australian Society of Psychiatrists (ASoP) acknowledged that police are often called upon to fill gaps in the mental health system but stressed that law enforcement should not be the default response to a health emergency. ASoP called on the NSW Government to implement the NSW Upper House Inquiry's recommendation to develop a health-led response to mental health emergencies, informed by successful interstate models.

On behalf of families and carers of people with mental ill health, MHCN strongly backs these calls. When carers of people with mental health issues want to get help for someone having a mental health crisis, they should have confidence in a planned, ethical, professionally delivered response that can competently de-escalate risks for all concerned."

Infant Mental Health Awareness Week

"This year’s Infant Mental Health Awareness Week (8–14 June 2026) focuses on the theme of ‘attunement’ – the ability to tune in and connect emotionally with others. Practitioners play an important role in supporting parents to notice their infant or toddler’s mental health and cues for connection. But not all practitioners feel comfortable doing this work.

Keeping the infant and toddler in mind is a free online course created by Emerging Minds to support practitioners working with families who have young children. It introduces a relationship-based framework that promotes the mental health of children from birth to age five, with a focus on the parent–child relationship. Check out this self-paced course today to increase your confidence in supporting parents to notice their child’s cues and nurture positive mental health."
