The date for the Australian Census 2026 is tomorrow 11 August. Have you filled in your form yet? The Census may be completed online or on a paper form.
Do you speak Maltese? Even just a little? Recording Maltese as a language spoken at home helps demonstrate that the language is still being used and valued in Australia. Please say so where it counts: IN THE CENSUS
Census figures help guide funding decisions for community services such as aged care, health programs, welfare services, and multicultural initiatives. So, if you are Maltese or you have Maltese ancestry, please say so where it counts: IN THE CENSUS.

Saying " I am Maltese" and "I speak Maltese" helps ensure that the Maltese community remains visible, recognised and supported in Australia for generations to come.

Census letters have started to arrive..... Census night is Tuesday 11 August. Not long to go now.

Census night for Australia is Tuesday 11 August 2026.

You will soon be receiving information about the census. If you require a paper form you can request one by phoning:
📞 1800 130 250. You will need the 16-digit Census number from your Census letter when making the request.

Recording Maltese as a language spoken at home helps demonstrate that the language is still being used and valued in Australia.
Census figures help guide funding decisions for community services, aged care, health programs, welfare services, and multicultural initiatives. If fewer people identify as Maltese than actually are, the community's needs may be underestimated
Saying "I'm Maltese" and "I speak Maltese" in the Census is not just about personal identity. It helps ensure that the Maltese community remains visible, recognised and supported in Australia for generations to come.

CENSUS 2026
The Census this year will take place on the 11th of August and has some questions that relate to your country of birth, ancestry and language use.
The peak Maltese organisations across Australia are encouraging everyone of Maltese descent to answer that they have Maltese ancestry and speak Maltese at home, even if they speak only a little bit of Maltese.
Census information is used to make important decisions about the health, welfare and social services and programs our community needs and deserves. Governments, councils and other organisations all use Census data to decide how they will fund their services and for which communities.
So it’s up to every one of us to say we’re Maltese where it counts.... IN THE CENSUS.
