Womenโs League Tag โ Frequently Asked Questions
๐ When does the season kick off?
The tentative kick-off date is Friday, 16 October 2026, with the competition scheduled to finish on Friday, 4 December 2026. Final dates and the competition draw will be confirmed once team nominations are finalised.
๐ What uniforms do we wear?
Teams can wear their normal club jerseys or matching team shirts with numbers. This is designed to be an accessible and social competition, so teams do not need to purchase a completely new playing kit.
๐ท๏ธ Do we have to have League Tag shorts?
No. League Tag shorts are not compulsory. Players who already have them are welcome to wear them. Belts and tags will be organised for the competition, so not having specialised League Tag shorts won't stop you from playing.
๐ฅ How many players do we need?
Each team will field 11 players at a time. We recommend having additional registered players available as substitutes to ensure your team has enough players each Friday night.
A squad of approximately 15โ18 players would be ideal to cover substitutions, injuries and player availability throughout the eight-week competition.
๐ฐ Is there a cost to play?
Yes. There will be a $30 QRL insurance fee to participate in the competition.
๐ I already played Rugby League in 2026. Do I have to pay again?
Yes. League Tag is a different registration product, so players who have already registered and played tackle Rugby League during the 2026 season will still need to register for League Tag and pay the $30 QRL insurance fee.
