🌟 Celebrating NAIDOC Week – Together, We Are the Tapestry of Australia 🌟
"We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love… and then we return home." – Australian Aboriginal Proverb
This NAIDOC Week, let’s pause and reflect on the true meaning of this celebration—honouring the stories, resilience, and enduring spirit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while recognising that their history is all of our history.
Australia is a vibrant tapestry, woven from countless threads—each culture, each voice, each story adding its own unique colour. And just like any strong fabric, we’re at our best when those threads are connected, not pulled apart.
There’s been a lot of noise lately—divisions, debates, and disagreements. But NAIDOC Week isn’t about separation; it’s about coming together. It’s about listening, learning, and lifting each other up. It’s about acknowledging the past while stepping forward, together, into a future where every thread in our national story is valued.
As a Wiradjuri man and a community builder, my mission has always been simple: to connect people through culture. Whether it’s painting murals in the park, sharing stories, or playing the yigi-yigi, I believe that culture isn’t just something we observe —it’s something we create, side by side.
This week (and every week), I invite you to:
✨ Listen – to the oldest continuing cultures on Earth.
✨ Learn – about the wisdom, art, and traditions that shape this land.
✨ Celebrate – because joy is a language we all understand.
✨ Build bridges – because we go further when we walk together.
NAIDOC Week reminds us that we all belong to this story. So let’s write the next chapter with respect, unity, and a whole lot of heart. 💛🖤❤️
Drop a ❤️ below if you believe in a future built together. And if you see me out and about this week, come say g’day—let’s paint, yarn, and keep weaving this beautiful tapestry we call home.
