Secretary's Report – General Meeting

Secretary Position
It was noted that no previous minutes from the past Winter Competition meeting had been handed over following the resignation of former Secretary, Sam Throup.
A nomination for the position of Secretary was received from William Owers, nominating Leahann Forbes. The nomination was voted on and carried unanimously. Leahann Forbes accepted the position of Secretary.
Treasurer's Report
The Treasurer reported a current balance of $7,094.38.

Finals Format
Following discussion regarding the most suitable finals structure, members voted in favour of splitting the top eight teams in the competition into two divisions.
Division 1 (A Grade)
Top four teams:
- Vic Ruffnuts vs Metro Barbarians – Venue: The Vic
- Metro Tigers vs Ophir Outlaws – Venue: Metro Hotel
Division 2 (B Grade)
Bottom four teams:
- Vic Devils vs Vic Socialites – Venue: The Vic
- Metro Misfits vs Vic Stuffups – Venue: Ophir Hotel
It was noted that the venue for Metro Misfits vs Vic Stuffups was mutually agreed upon by both team captains.
Winter Competition Team Nominations
The following team nominations were submitted for the upcoming Winter Competition:
- Royal Ruffnuts
- Vic Socialites
- Vic Stuffups
- Ophir Outlaws
- Metro Misfits (home venue to be confirmed)
- Metro Barbarians
- Metro Tigers
- Vic Devils
Competition Rule Discussion
Following discussion, members agreed to trial the removal of the coin toss at the commencement of matches.
The proposed trial format is:
- The home team will throw and score first.
- If a deciding third game is required, a coin toss will then be conducted to determine the starting team.
This proposal will be formally raised at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM) for consideration and vote.
Meeting Attendance via Technology
It was agreed that members unable to attend meetings in person may be counted as present if they participate via Zoom, video call, or similar electronic means.
This arrangement must be organised prior to the meeting through an attending member.
Rules and Regulations
It was noted that members require access to the current Association Rules and Regulations.
Following discussion, Esta agreed to email a current copy to Secretary Leahann Forbes for distribution.
Team Qualification Information
All attending teams were provided with copies of:
- Weekly win/loss records
- Qualifying player/member lists
Future General Meetings
To promote transparency and fairness amongst all clubs and sponsors, future meetings will be rotated and shared across all home venues.
Acknowledgements
The Association would like to extend its sincere thanks and appreciation to Cheyanne Lonsdale for the significant time and effort invested in reviewing all competition draws and compiling the season statistics.
It is acknowledged that this was a lengthy and demanding task, which was completed within a very short timeframe. Through Cheyanne's dedication, attention to detail, and meticulous work, the Association now has an accurate and up-to-date score tally for the competition.
The Committee recognises and appreciates the hard work and commitment shown in undertaking this important task and thanks Cheyanne for her valuable contribution to the Orange Mixed Darts Association.
