With new support pathways introduced in 2024, more young people leaving forced marriage situations in Australia are able to seek help without the fear of criminal proceedings against their families. For many, the first and most urgent need is somewhere safe to live — a place that feels calm, stable and designed with their wellbeing in mind.
Across Australia, specialist programs show the impact that trauma-informed accommodation can have. When young people have access to predictable, human-centred spaces, they can stabilise, reconnect with support, and rebuild their futures at their own pace.
Nexus Communities pods include design elements that support safety and recovery: clear sight lines, acoustic privacy, lockable windows, a rear safety exit and adaptable spaces that give people choice and control.
Safe, stable housing is more than shelter.
It’s the beginning of a new future.
