When we first showcased the pod, we styled the main ground-floor bedroom with a queen bed.

But one of the core strengths of this design is flexibility.

This room can just as easily fit bunk beds and extra storage - giving families more options and leaving the loft bedroom for the adult or adults supporting any children.

It also creates a strong sense of security.

The frosted sliding door and high window mean nobody can see in, while the loft hatch window gives adults upstairs clear sight and sound of the children below.

It’s one more way trauma-informed design shapes our pods: calm, predictable spaces that support safety, privacy and connection.

Scalable social housing doesn’t have to wait for infrastructure.

Each Nexus pod is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell system designed for low-emission, off-grid operation.

That means homes can be deployed quickly, safely, and sustainably, even where utilities aren’t yet available.

Soft-close acoustic sliding doors, durable materials, adaptable storage options, and an almost 4-metre loft ceiling all work together to create a calm, stable space for people who’ve experienced instability or long-term insecurity.

Thoughtful design isn’t about luxury. It’s about creating a safe, human-centred space that people can really settle into.
