Pregnancy Counselling Link (PCL) would love to connect with local businesses and community-minded individuals who are passionate about supporting women and families in our community.
Every year we support women navigating pregnancy, new motherhood, infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, anxiety, depression and the many challenges that can accompany the perinatal season of life.

One of the greatest barriers to support is simply not knowing help exists.

We're currently seeking community partners to help us increase awareness of our free counselling and support services, ensuring more women and families can access support before challenges reach crisis point.

Whether through a tax-deductible donation, sponsorship, in-kind support, or simply helping us share our message, we would love the opportunity to collaborate with other local businesses who share our commitment to strengthening our community and supporting vulnerable women during this important season of life.

Together, we can help ensure that more women know where to turn when they need support most.

If you'd like to learn more about partnering with Pregnancy Counselling Link, please send us a message or visit our website.

Thank you for helping us build a more connected and supported community.

Today, on National Sorry Day, we pause to acknowledge the strength, resilience and ongoing grief carried by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and communities.

At PCL, we know that experiences of pregnancy, birth and parenting are deeply connected to culture, identity, family and belonging. We recognise that the trauma and grief caused by forced separation and the ongoing impacts of the Stolen Generations continue to affect parents, children, families and communities across generations.

Today we remember the Stolen Generations, honour survivors, and commit to listening, learning and walking alongside First Nations families with compassion, cultural humility and respect.

We remember. We listen. We learn. 🖤💛❤️

At Pregnancy Counselling Link, it’s an exciting time!

Our evolving partnership with Ketim Technologies, founded by Dr Clarissa Yates and her remarkable team, continues to inspire us as they advance pioneering research into early predictors of postnatal depression right here in Brisbane.

At PCL’s core is a clear purpose: bringing together the people to design services that respond to every individual, in every circumstance.

Ketim is building a blood test that could identify postpartum depression risk before symptoms emerge, and they need your help.

Your experience, however that looks, has the potential to influence the next stage of their research.

We would ask that you take a couple of minutes to complete this short survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdEMCTg5Zo_HA0kDZbBtg1d_A99pKfaf8TOkaBWZ5n_brpbig/viewform

You can skip anything that doesn't feel right.

The wider the reach, the greater the impact, so we invite you to share this opportunity across your networks.

Your voice can help shape what comes next.

A big, big thank you to the wonderful Emily Serow, who came to visit our Koala Joey's groups this morning.
It was such a treat to have another local author read their book to us.
Kirra and Coco are sisters that go on an adventure, building bravery and confidence along the way. It certainly got the thumbs up from our little Joey's!
Check out Emily's book here www.emilyserowbooks.com
You can also find Kirra and Coco at your local Library.

Leading up to birth, many women imagine that moment. After hours of labour, the intensity, the effort, the build-up - there’s often a picture in mind of what comes next.
Your baby being lifted onto your chest. That first touch. Skin to skin. The overwhelming rush of “I did it”. Your baby is here.

But for some, that image doesn't eventuate.

You’re lying on a surgical table, in a room that feels too bright and cold and unfamiliar. There are so many people moving with purpose around you. A screen between you and the rest of your body. Sensations that don’t match what you expected.
And then, your baby arrives. Held above the screen for a brief glimpse, and then gone.

Not placed straight onto your chest, but eventually brought to you wrapped, cleaned, held by someone else first.
Maybe cheek to cheek. Maybe just for a moment. Long enough for that first photo to be snapped.

And in that moment, everything you feel can exist all at once.
Relief. Shock. Sadness. Pure joy. Gratitude. Even resentment.
Your baby is here.
They are safe.
You are safe.
And still, this isn't how you imagined it.

The outcome you hoped for, your baby’s safe arrival, has been met. The path there was unfamiliar, unexpected, or even difficult to put into words. That doesn’t take away from your birth. But it can shape how it’s held in your body and your memory.

April is Caesarean Awareness Month, a time to recognise the strength, complexity and emotion that can come with this kind of birth.

For those who have walked this path, your experience matters. We'd love to hear your story or maybe leave a heart in the comments if you had a c-section 💜

We wanted to let everyone know that our upcoming Mother’s Day event has sadly been postponed.
This wasn’t an easy decision, and we know it's disappointing for those who were planning to attend.

We’re looking forward to bringing this event to life later in the year and will share more details as soon as we can.

Thank you for your understanding and for your continued support.

*******************************************

It’s that time of year again… our annual Mother’s Day Fundraiser is here! This year, we’re doing things a little differently, and we’d love you to join us for a very special cocktail evening 🥂

We’re thrilled to welcome special guest speaker Dr Clarissa Yates from Ketim Technologies (you may have seen her on 7News - check out the comments 👀).

It’s shaping up to be a beautiful night of connection, celebration, and community as we honour mums and the incredible journey of motherhood.

🌷 Enjoy a night out (you deserve it!)
🌹 Meet the PCL team and connect with others in the community
🪻 PLUS - our raffle and silent auction will feature some amazing prizes you won’t want to miss 👏

The PCL team wishes you a very safe and happy Easter 🐾🐰

Our service is now closed and will reopen on Tuesday 7th.

We know there is a lot happening in the world right now - both globally and closer to home. The cost of living strain and future uncertainties can feel like a cloud that never shifts.

We hope this long weekend offers a chance to switch off from some of that noise and an opportunity to connect with your family.

For some, Easter may feel a little different this year. However this weekend looks for you, we hope you’re able to find small moments of joy. A chance to slow down, be present, and create memories together.

We hope you have the opportunity to rest, recharge, and take care of yourselves over the long weekend.

Take care 💐💜

Today is Say Their Name Day.

A day led by Red Nose Australia, to honour and remember the babies and children who are no longer with us.

In our quiet part of social media, we simply want to take a moment to acknowledge them.

To say their names.
To hold space for their memory.
To recognise the depth of love that continues beyond loss.

Grief in this space can be complex. It may be the loss of your own child, or the ache of knowing a child who has passed. It may be recent, or it may be something you carry quietly over time.

However it shows up, it matters.

Today, we honour the children who are deeply loved and deeply missed. We hold in mind the parents, families and communities who carry that love with them every day.

If you’d like to, you’re welcome to share their names in the comments - we would be honoured to hold space for them with you.

Yesterday we had a very special visit at our Koala Joeys program.
Local author and mum, Jess Galatola, joined us to read her beautiful book Some Families Change.

This thoughtful story gently explores how families can look different and how they may change over time, particularly through separation, while reminding children that love remains constant.

It was such a meaningful morning for both parents and little ones, creating space for connection, conversation and understanding around a topic many families navigate. We also spoke about how stories like this can help open up conversations with children - not only about their own experiences, but also about friends whose families may be going through changes.

Jess, thank you so much for spending your morning with us and sharing your story, it was truly special.

If you’d like to learn more about Jess and her work, you can visit her website and keep an eye out for her upcoming releases:
