Our regular working bee will take place this Saturday 4th July, 7-9 am, weather permitting!

All equipment supplied, just wear a long-sleeved shirt, trousers and closed-in shoes.

We meet at our shed between the Nundah Historic Cemetery and the playground in Hedley Avenue Nundah.

We usually have a well-deserved morning tea afterwards, so please bring a drink and a small plate of food to share, if you would like to stay for a chat.

See you then ☺️

Many hands made light work of the cardboard and mulch laying at the Zion Hill working bee yesterday. All done and dusted in an hour and a half! We'll let that settle in for a while, and get busy planting later on! It could also prove irresistible to the local Brush Turkeys and we may have to tweak it a bit!

Our regular working bee is coming up this Saturday 6th June, from 7 -9 am.

We’ll meet at the shed between the Nundah Historic Cemetery in Hedley Avenue Nundah, and the kids’ playground.

We’re planning on some weeding and mulching, so come along and join us for some light exercise, some friendly conversation and the satisfaction of helping to improve our local environment.

We have morning tea after our working bee, so feel free to bring along a drink and a snack to share.

Hope to see you Saturday!

Congratulations to Peter Weir, the volunteer Group Leader of Zion Hill Bushcare Group, and to Robert Standish-White, President of Kedron Brook Catchment Branch, on receiving Environment Awards at the recent Lilley Electorate Awards, hosted by Anita Wells MP. We value all the effort you put into protecting our local environment.

Another very satisfying weeding session this morning at Zion Hill. The weeds came out quite easily and the rain stayed away for us. The Whip Birds were in full voice today.

Fingers crossed for a little fine weather for Saturday 2nd May, 7-9 am, as we are holding our regular working bee. The rain has been fantastic, but we still have lots of weeding to do. Come along and join us. We meet at the shed between the Nundah Historic Cemetery and the kid’s playground in Hedley Ave Nundah. Wear a long- sleeved shirt, trousers, closed-in shoes and a hat. Bring along a small plate and a drink if you’d like to stay for morning tea afterwards. Please message us for more information.

Another great working bee with the Zion Hill Bushcare Group this morning. We dealt with the usual suspect weeds, such as Dyschoriste depressa, Senna pendula, (Easter Cassia), Rivina humilis (Coral Berry)
Dolichandra unguis-cati (Cat's Claw Creeper) Celtis sinensis, (Chinese Celtis) and Ipomoea purpurea (Morning Glory). At least the Easter Cassia and the Morning Glory were easy to spot in full flower.
