Fight for a Cure

Fight for a Cure Uniting the Northern Beaches community in the fight for a cancer cure. Once again we hope to raise enough money to fund 2 researchers for an entire 12 months.

'Fight on the Beaches' is a fundraising group started by 8 Northern Beaches women wanting to raise funds to find a cure for cancer. Over the past 7 years we have raised over $1.9 million to fund 12 cancer reserachers for a period of 12 months each. Fight on the Beaches fundraises directly for 'Fight for a Cure', which was established by the Fight on the Beaches Chairperson's so we could direct our

funds into not only a cancer cure through research, but cancer prevention and early detection in the local community. Our premiere fundraising event is our annual Charity Ball at Miramare Gardens, Terrey Hills. We hope that you will join us to do your bit to help cure cancer. In addition we do Christmas wrapping at Warriewood Square, hold an annual 'Northern Beaches School's M***i Day', and hold other adhoc events to supplement the activities we can support, including free cancer screening clinics for women. Visit www.fightonthebeaches.com for more information.

We are incredibly proud to share that we have been **shortlisted for the Non-Profit Organisation Awards 2026** hosted by Acquisition International 🎉

Now in its sixth year, the **Non-Profit Organisation Awards 2026** celebrate organisations and individuals who are transforming lives, strengthening systems, and building better futures across the globe.

To be recognised among community champions, changemakers, advocates, and innovators working across humanitarian support, health equity, education, environmental protection, economic empowerment, and social justice is truly an honour.

These awards are judged purely on merit — recognising excellence, innovation, integrity, and measurable impact. Being shortlisted is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and persistence of our entire team, partners, and supporters who make our mission possible every single day.

Last week, we sadly said goodbye to Dominic Lynch, a remarkable man, a courageous voice, and someone who touched the hearts of everyone at our 2025 Beers with the Boys fundraiser.

Dominic stood on our stage and shared his story with honesty, humour, and an unwavering commitment to help others. His words were powerful, and they have only grown louder in the days since his passing.

He reminded us to:
1. Be proactive with your healthcare, because early action can change everything.
2. Make time to tell the special people in your life that you love them, because none of us are promised tomorrow.
3. Spend your time with the people who lift you up and form your support network, because connection is one of life’s greatest strengths.

Dominic didn’t just speak these messages, he lived them.
And we will carry them forward in his honour.

Over the last few months of Dominic's journey, his family were supported by an incredible Cancer Care Coordinator, whose guidance, compassion, and steady presence made an immeasurable difference. In gratitude for that support, the family is raising funds for Fight for a Cure, who helped make this vital role possible. If you would like to donate in his honour click the link https://www.fightonthebeaches.com/fundraisers/dominic

Our thoughts and love are with his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest easy, Dominic. Thank you for leaving us with lessons that will continue to make a difference. 💛
