National Reconciliation Week (27 May–3 June) is here. This year’s theme, “All In”, reminds us that reconciliation isn’t something we watch from the sidelines. It’s something we do, together, every day.

Reconciliation cannot rest on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples alone. For too long, they have carried the burden of advocating for change. Being “all in” means showing up with respect, understanding and a willingness to learn.

At its heart, reconciliation is built on trust, listening and learning. The more we understand culture, history and lived experience, the more we recognise the strength and leadership within First Nations communities. Different ways of knowing don’t compete. They strengthen us all.

Tonight, volunteers from Rotary Adelaide rolled up their sleeves at Ronald McDonald House for Meals from the Heart ❤️

This beautiful volunteer program brings people together to prepare and serve fresh, home-cooked meals for families staying at Ronald McDonald House North Adelaide while their children are in hospital.

After long and emotional days, having dinner ready and waiting can make a world of difference for families doing it tough.

We’re proud to support such an important initiative and grateful to our Rotary Adelaide volunteers for giving their time and donations tonight to help make families feel a little more at home 🍽️

🎍🍀🌿 What a difference a few years can make. The Peace Pole at Charles Campbell College was installed in 2023, along with a garden planted to create a peaceful space. Now, it’s surrounded by lavender and other plants, forming a beautiful environment for everyone to sit and enjoy. 🐝🦋🐦

The Peace Pole was one of 2 donated by Rotary Campbelltown to the school in recognition of the centenary of Rotary in South Australia. 🥳

Volunteer opportunity - Make a Peace Pole

On 16 May 2026 for the EPIC DAY OF SERVICE, we invite you (Rotary members, families, students, and neighbours) to join forces to create a Peace Pole, a global monument to peace, for a local school.

Peace Poles share the universal message May Peace Prevail on Earth in multiple languages. At a time when the world feels divided and uncertain, this project offers a hands‑on way to nurture peace in our hearts, our homes, our neighbourhoods, and our schools. Together, we’ll build a symbol of unity, belonging, and hope that will stand for decades.

Volunteer activities include: • Applying multilingual peace messages • Assisting children and families with simple tasks • Photographing the process for Rotary and school records • Creating a Peace Pole ceremony.

It’s creative, meaningful, and fun. Places are limited for this unique experience, with 50% of spots already filled.

Please register soon to secure your place. Go to the link below and click on the VOLUNTEER button to let us know you'll be coming.

🌊 A new Peace Pole for Moana Beach

If you’re down at Moana Surf Lifesaving Club, just outside Dukes Café, you’ll now spot a beautiful new Peace Pole carrying the message May Peace Prevail on Earth.

Congratulations to Rotary Seaford for gifting this Peace Pole to the community and for your ongoing commitment to hope, unity, and connection. Your work continues to ripple far beyond the coastline. We think this may be the first Peace Pole at a Surf Lifesaving Club! 🤔

Thank you to Rotary Seaford and Moana Coastal Walkers for the great photos.

May Peace Prevail on Earth. 🕊️💛

Staff from Roma Mitchell College shared with us this week that there Head Prefects, Saanvi, Emiliana, Norvin and Wajiha have been featured in The Advertiser as part of the SA Future Leaders list. The students have been acknowledged for their leadership, dedication and commitment to creating inclusive and supportive environments at Roma Mitchell College, Gepps Cross. The photos shared in The Advertiser were of the students in front of one of two Peace Poles donated by Barry and Diane Noble and Frida Cheok to the school on behalf of Rotary Adelaide about 2 years ago. Their story is an inspiring reminder that Peace Poles in schools are powerful symbols of investing in peace, where values are formed, perspectives are broadened, and future leaders learn their responsibility to one another and the wider world. Congratulations to the students! The Peace Pole in the background of your photos is such a fitting symbol for you as leaders.
