TRACA is appalled by the brutal attack on independent federal MP Helen Haines.

No political disagreement, however deeply felt, justifies violence, threats or intimidation.

We can challenge ideas, reject harmful rhetoric and hold people accountable for their words and actions. But violence must never be part of that response.

As an organisation committed to advocacy, representation and the right of communities to be heard, As a peak body, TRACA unequivocally condemns political violence and intimidation in all its forms.

Our thoughts are with Helen, her family, colleagues and community at this deeply distressing time.

Flinders Island Aboriginal Association Inc. (FIAAI) is offering two free parenting courses in November, with practical advice and strategies for supporting children and teenagers.

The Four Ways Parenting Course focuses on behaviour, emotional regulation and building positive relationships with children aged 2–11.

Engaging Adolescents offers practical ways to navigate teenage behaviour, improve communication and strengthen family relationships.

Both courses will be held in Lady Barron, with the possibility of one-on-one sessions.

💚 Meet Kelly from Circular Head Aboriginal Corporation (CHAC)!
Kelly has been with CHAC for more than 15 years and works in social and emotional wellbeing and supporting people with cancer.
It's great to see the people behind the important work Aboriginal community-controlled organisations do every day.

How long have you worked at CHAC?
Over 15 years

Favourite place in Northwest Tasmania?
That's hard because I love so many places, the fist that comes to mind is Cape Grim, followed closely by Stanley

What do you like doing outside of work?
Exploring new places and walking on the beach

What do you enjoy about working in community/at CHAC?
Assisting people to feel better about themselves, identify what they may think is a weakness and show how it can become their strength

Something people don’t know about me...
I'm scared of big animal's, especially cows, but I love reptiles (I want a pet snake or a turtle, turtles are cool)
