From the gallery:

‘Textile has always been a constant thread in our lives. Like threads, artists and individuals, shift and evolve. This notion of transformation is mirrored through artist practices utilising the medium to reflect lived experiences, societal changes and changes of forms, materials, or concepts, allowing artworks to evolve alongside the artists, visually archiving these states of transformation as a form of artistic metamorphosis. Metamorphosis explores the artist’s role as a bearer of transformation.

Anchored in the metaphor of the artist as alchemist. For this exhibit, Timeless Textiles Gallery has curated works that reflects personal growth and evolution alongside the gallery evolution over the last 15 years. The title of this exhibition Metamorphosis urges us to consider the variety of ways artists have changed and evolved both recently and over the last 15 years. Through highlighting how artists challenge personal and cultural narratives through their reinterpretations of their original works.

Thank you very much for supporting Timeless Textiles over the years - this will be our last exhibition.

Opening at Wester Gallery this Friday!

Sophia Flegg is coming to Wester.

Rat Park is a bold new exhibition exploring identity, reckless youth, community and the messy business of being human. Made with paper, paint, collage and found objects, these works are full of colour, feeling and unmistakably Australian stories.

Sophia is an artist, mural painter and poet whose work has been part of Newcastle’s creative life for more than two decades. Her paintings are raw, funny, emotional and full of life.

BOUNCEBACK 2026
Arts in Recovery (AiR)
The Creator Incubator is pleased to present Bounceback 2026, an annual exhibition celebrating the creative participants of the Arts in Recovery (AiR) program.

For more than 16 years, AiR has provided a welcoming space for people to come together, make art, share experiences, and build connections through creativity.
The program continues to bring people from across the community together, creating opportunities for self-expression, learning, and mutual support.
The works featured in this exhibition reflect the individuality, imagination, and lived experiences of the participating artists. Each piece offers a glimpse into an individual creative journey and highlights the positive role art can play in wellbeing and recovery.
AIR remains entirely volunteer-run, with workshops and exhibition opportunities provided free of charge.
Proceeds from artwork sales go directly to the artists.
Bounceback 2026 is an opportunity to celebrate creativity, community, and the people who make both possible. We invite you to explore the exhibition, meet the artists, and enjoy the diverse range of works on display.

The everyday has a way of giving itself away.
Playful, quietly ironic and rich in observation, Kimberly Swan’s paintings find unexpected significance in familiar objects, domestic spaces and ordinary scenes. Working predominantly in oil, with sculptural elements and assemblage extending beyond the canvas, Swan invites us to look again at what we call “normal”.

Life and Line Line is the rst mark and the last — theedge where clay remembers the hand that shaped it, the
stroke where paint holds its breath.
This exhibition brings together ceramic form and
painted surface as two ways of giving shape to what
moves through us. In clay, line lives in contour, seam and crack, revealing the movement of the hand and the nature of earth. In painting, line is gesture — creating boundaries, rhythm and space, allowing an inner world to emerge. Together, these works explore the space between control and accident, earth and air, breath and gesture — and the marks we leave behind.

Artist Nicole de Mestre explores the transformative potential of discarded materials and the
overlooked resources embedded within everyday urban life. Found objects, industrial remnants and household waste-all destined for landfill-are collected from the suburban landscape and reimagined.
