In Memory
Jan Blizzard was a stalwart of road racing in NSW for more than 60 years. Always to the forefront in the dynamic team with husband Arthur, both giving thousands of hours to the sport. We remember Jan running in the womenโs class of racing at Oran Park on a Honda, but much more importantly, as a chief official for the annual Bathurst Easter race program of the 70s that brought many international riders to Australia, including Hideo Kanaya, Mike Hailwood and many others. While Jan ran the race secretary's office with an iron fist, no one knew the rules better than Jan and, in later years, she was always a friendly and familiar face in the race office to the many competitors she knew personally. She was a remarkable character, a dedicated volunteer and an unquestionable lover of the sport she and Arthur dedicated their life to. Vale Jan, remembered with admiration and respect.
