🚧 Narrogin SES Training Night 🚧
Last night our volunteers put their teamwork, planning and practical skills to the test during a hands-on training and unit improvement evening.
Members were split into teams and tasked with projects around the unit, including:
🔸 Reorganising the Uniform Store with new shelving
🔸 Removing and relocating redundant equipment and storage items
🔸 Preparing boundary marker pegs for our Land Search capability
Each team was required to assess the task, identify safety considerations, develop a plan and delegate responsibilities before getting to work.
Training nights like these help keep our unit organised, operationally ready and prepared to respond when our community needs us most.
A big thank you to all volunteers who gave up their evening to learn new skills, work together and make improvements around the unit.
We were also pleased to welcome two prospective new members, Carla and Vjay, who joined us for their first training night. It was a great opportunity for them to see some of the activities we undertake, meet our volunteers, ask questions and get to know some of our orange crew.
As training wrapped up, the past & upcoming training calendar on the whiteboard was reviewed & a topic of First Aid refresher courses sparked some lively discussion. Naturally, this led Chloe and Marie down a nostalgic trip through the music archives, as they tested a playlist of CPR songs with the recommended 100–120 beats per minute tempo for chest compressions.
From classic hits to unexpected favourites, the pair compiled quite the smorgasbord of tunes, along with the actions to see whether they were worthy of being on the list, proving that learning can be both informative and entertaining🤭. We hope Carla and Vjay enjoyed the experience and got a glimpse of the supportive, welcoming and fun culture that makes Narrogin SES such a great team to be part of.
💛🧡 Interested in becoming part of a team that makes a difference? We’d love to hear from you.
