The Breath - Perhaps our greatest teacher. What can the breath teach us about holding and directing attention?

This Wednesday, John Ireland of Breathwork HQ will guide us through a powerful combination of conscious breathing and visualisation, exploring the intersection where attention meets intention — and how working with both can create real shifts in how we think, feel, and show up.

If you've ever wondered how something as simple as breathing can become a tool for focused change, this is your session.

Do our intentions always result in actions?
Do we often forget to put our intentions into action, distracted by the 10,000 things that enter our awareness on a daily basis.

This is not a new problem, it’s part of being human, but the phones, social media, and frenetic lifestyles probably haven’t helped. Luckily, humans have worked this out before, traditional cultures created practices and methods for aligning intention and focusing attention to result in action.
This week Fabiola will share wisdom in the form of embodied practice, drawing on her tradition of birth, Toltec in modern-day Mexico. Come and experience how these timeless practices work in the modern world.

Happy National Volunteer Week 💛
To our incredible team of 45 volunteers — thank you!!!
Thank you for showing up, often at the end of a long day, or early in the morning, or filling in at the last minute.
Thank you for listening without judgement, for offering kindness without condition, and for creating a space where people feel safe, seen and valued.
Thankyou for giving up your time on some weekends to do our very important training!
Because of you, Mowana Safe Space can open its doors 4 nights per week, 3 mornings per week for Coffee with kindness, one night per month for LGBTQIA+. Thankyou to those of you who in addition serve on our Steering Committee, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes, thanks to our amazing roster co-ordinator Luba, our Accounts person Michelle, Tony and Bethany who run our Wisdom Wellbeing Wednesdays. Mel & Sim who run rainbow nights.
Because of you, no one has to sit alone in their darkest moments. We have now been opened for just over 3 years and not had to close our doors once due to lack of Staff. We have now had just over 3,000 guests come into see us. That is incredible.
You Mowana volunteers are the quiet strength behind everything we do.
And this week, we celebrate you.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for being the difference. 💛

Where you place your attention shapes everything, how you feel in your body, the stories you tell yourself, and ultimately the life you live.
The good news? Attention can be trained.
This week at Wisdom & Wellbeing Wednesdays, we explore mindfulness as a practical toolkit for redirecting your attention towards what actually improves your experience of life. Through breath practice, grounding techniques, and simple exercises you can use straight away, you'll learn how to step out of looping thoughts, settle the nervous system, and create space to choose where your focus goes.
No experience needed. No sitting still for an hour. Just honest conversation and real practice you can take home.
Hosted by Melissa Judd — certified life coach, trauma practitioner, and passionate mental health advocate 💛

This session is not to be missed!
Dr. Carolina Muñoz is an integrative GP with 13+ years of clinical experience. In this session, Carolina will share her insights into the central role of nervous system regulation in health and wellbeing.
By attending, you will gain a clear understanding of nervous system states and practical tools for their management, drawing on polyvagal theory, somatic practice, and functional medicine.
Carolina is dedicated to translating science into practices people can actually feel in their bodies. She works with clients across Australia and Latin America through her in-person and online integrative practice.
