It is with deep sadness that we reflect on the life of Paul Morgan following his passing on 18 February 2026. Paul was the President of Bermagui SLSC for a decade from 1994 until the end of the 2004-05 season and he was a driving force behind the building appeal to raise funds to construct the club’s current clubhouse.
Paul was the first Life Member of Bermagui SLSC and was inducted in 2008. Paul’s commitment to Surf Life Saving also saw him inducted as a Life Member of Far South Coast Branch.
Although he stepped back from active involvement due to ill health, Paul was a constant presence over the years joining Annual Presentation events to stay connected with the club and always turning up to help welcome new Bronze and SRC members to the team as they passed their assessments.
Rarely seen without his Rabbitohs gear, he and his beautiful wife, Kerry, were frequent visitors to Horseshoe Bay for a swim and to check in with the lifesavers on duty, never missing a chance to encourage them and say thank you.
On behalf of the whole team at Bermagui SLSC, we thank Paul for his service and for the lasting impact he made on surf life saving in Bermagui and beyond, and we send our love and condolences to Kerry Morgan, Ed and Billy and Paul’s extended family.
A memorial service will be held at Bermagui Surf Club on Thursday 26th March (time TBA) and will include a paddle out in Paul’s special place, Horseshoe Bay.
Rest in peace, Morgs, you will be greatly missed.
