Exciting news for Murrindindi families!
Last month, we were invited to join a recent meeting with the Shire for local young people to collaborate on new ideas for the Youth of Yea and surrounds.
As part of a recent Murrindindi initiative to be part of VicHealth Youth Wellbeing development, we have been engaging in discussions around possible projects with this purpose.
As a result, Murrindindi Home Educators have been invited by the Shire to share their ideas for Youth Wellbeing initiatives!
Weβve been welcomed by the Murrindindi Youth Development team to contribute ideas to a local project looking at how we can create more opportunities for young people and families in Yea.
The project is interested in hearing directly from young people aged 9β16 about what they would like to see happening locally β particularly ideas that encourage:
π¨ Creativity
πββοΈ Physical activity
π€ Social connection
πΏ Opportunities to use our local community spaces
This could include things such as workshops, clubs, activities, excursions, creative programs, sporting opportunities, or other experiences that our children would genuinely enjoy and find valuable.
If your children are aged 9β16, please ask them:
βIf you could create an activity or program for young people in Yea, what would you choose?β
Please take this wonderful opportunity to share your ideas.
The ideas gathered will help inform a future opportunity for young people and community groups to co-design local programs.
Letβs make sure our Home Educating community has a voice in shaping opportunities for young people in Yea.
