Black and white or mono.

5-image landscape portfolio should act as a cohesive visual story rather than just a collection of random favorites. The "rule of five" means every single image must earn its spot through unique variety, flawless composition, and a unified mood.Select your top 5 landscape photos and arrange them according to these principles:

Our 'Creative Photography' meeting is always a popular one and last night the regular crew captured some amazing images . Thanks to all who attended and brought along props. These nights take a lot of preparation and effort to make them work. Thanks also for the apologies from those who could not attend .

Good evening members. A new approach beckons for our next challenge. A "Landscape portfolio"

The 5-Image Portfolio StructureImage

1: The Opener (The Hook)Goal: Establish the setting and scale.Rule: This is your strongest, highest-impact "hero" shot. It should draw the viewer in immediately and set the mood, usually a grand, sweeping vista.

Image 2: The Environmental ContextGoal: Show the surrounding environment.Rule: Step back or use a wider focal length to show where the first shot took place. This establishes geography and gives the portfolio room to breathe.

Image 3: The Subject FocusGoal: Zero in on a specific subject.Rule: Isolate a focal point—like a distinct rock formation, a specific tree, or a mountain peak. This demonstrates your ability to find order within a busy scene.

Image 4: The Intimate DetailGoal: Provide texture and microscopic scale.Rule: Zoom in. Show the abstract elements, weather impacts, or flora. This shows technical skill and an eye for the smaller things.

Image 5: The Closer (The Sign-off)Goal: Provide a satisfying conclusion.Rule: Return to a broader view or a dramatic closing scene. It should leave a lasting impression that echoes the mood of your opener.

Core Principles for CurationConsistency is Key: Ensure color palettes, lighting, and editing styles are identical across all 5 images. Do not mix a vibrant, high-contrast sunset photo with a muted, moody, foggy shot.

Images to be resized to 2056 long side, named and emailed,in by 6pm -Friday 28th August for an open critique and judging night for our meeting at 7 pm Tuesday the 1st September.
This is a great opportunity to use your creativity and photography skills.
