Should Australia permanently block suspected Islamic State supporters from returning home?
What do you think??
Comment below ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‘‡

Pauline Hanson has introduced a bill aimed at strengthening Australia's ability to block suspected Islamic State fighters and supporters from returning from overseas. The proposal would tighten exclusion orders, passport restrictions, bail rules and penalties for assisting unauthorised returnees. Supporters say tougher laws are needed to protect national security, while the government argues any action must comply with the Constitution, intelligence advice and the rule of law.

Australia Day is marked by community celebrations and official events across the country, and the Australian Government encourages government departments to fly or display the Australian National Flag on 26 January. Other organisations are also welcome to participate.

However, there is no nationwide requirement for local councils to put Australian flag banners on public streets, meaning individual councils can make their own decisions about street displays.

Supporters say displaying the flag publicly is a simple way to celebrate Australian identity, national pride and unity. Critics argue councils should consider the diverse views surrounding Australia Day and how the date is commemorated.

๐Ÿ’ฌ WHAT DO YOU THINK?

๐Ÿ‘ YES โ€” Australian flags should be displayed on public streets for Australia Day.

โค๏ธ NO โ€” Street flag displays should be a matter for individual councils.

๐Ÿ”ฅ UP IN SMOKE: $22 CI******ES?
Pauline Hansonโ€™s One Nation is pushing a controversial proposal to cut cigarette prices dramatically โ€” with a $46.50 pack potentially dropping to around $22.
The argument? Lower prices could help undermine the black market and organised crime.
But critics are likely to ask: would cheaper ci******es actually solve the problem โ€” or create new health concerns?
๐Ÿ’ฌ WHAT DO YOU THINK?
๐Ÿ‘ LIKE โ€” You support the $22 proposal
โค๏ธ HEART โ€” You oppose cheaper ci******es

Australia could spend $150 million helping host a UN climate summit in Fiji, sparking debate over government spending. Supporters say climate diplomacy and stronger Pacific partnerships are worth the investment, while critics argue taxpayers facing cost-of-living pressures need that money spent on priorities at home.
Is $150 million a worthwhile investment, or should the money be spent elsewhere? ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‘‡

Victorian Opposition Leader Jess Wilson is considering a policy to ban councils and councillors from using ratepayer money for overseas and interstate travel, arguing councils should focus spending on essential local services. The proposal is still being considered rather than being confirmed Coalition policy.
Victorian Opposition Leader Jess Wilson is considering a policy to ban councils and councillors from using ratepayer money for overseas and interstate travel, arguing councils should focus spending on essential local services. The proposal is still being considered rather than being confirmed Coalition policy.

Supporters say ratepayers should not have to fund expensive political trips, particularly when councils are under pressure over rates, roads, rubbish collection and local services.

Critics argue some travel can have legitimate purposes, including professional development, inspecting projects and building relationships with other governments and councils.

๐Ÿ’ฌ WHAT DO YOU THINK?

๐Ÿ‘ YES โ€” Councillors should not use ratepayer money for overseas trips.

โค๏ธ NO โ€” Legitimate council travel should still be allowed.
