CDF charity Public Benevolent Institution by advancing Social and Public welfare to enhance the health and well-being of its beneficiaries

FURTHER
CDF is the International beneficiary partner of the Royal Flying Doctor Service for road ambulances. CDF receive support from St John Ambulance Service and Ambulance Victoria to deliver this service anywhere help is required. HISTORY
In June 2012, a renowned Actor, Public personality & Philanthropist, Cyril Dharmawardana was diagnosed with stage iv Lung Cancer (Neuroendocryne Adinocarcenom

a). Being a non smoker all his life, the news came as a shock to everyone. He endured a series of Chemotherapy cycles at world renowned Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne for the next 16 months of his life. Most of the Chemo cycles were given to Cyril as a day patient. One point that stood out during treatment was the convenience of having an Ambulance for transportation back and forth from the hospital. On days he felt drained, hapless and sick to the core due to the treatment, this action was seen as a small but very significant facility in making his life comfortable. A husband, father and a grandfather, Cyril loved living life to the fullest. Through the highs and lows of his battle with Cancer, his positive outlook in life was reflected by the way he lived. Cyril was determined to battle the disease, and he fought hard to live a normal life as possible. He worked, acted & traveled on holidays. It was during his (last) trip to Sri Lanka in Sept. 2013 that he visited the main Cancer hospital in Sri Lanka. The state of patient care and lack of facilities was astounding. With one major treatment facility for Cancer in the whole of the Island. He dreamed and spoke about making a change and to help ease the pain of undergoing Cancer treatment. We are determined to make his dream a reality in memory of his name..........

VISION
Our vision is to provide a vital transportation service for those battling illness, ensuring access regardless of location, distance, time, or cost—now and for decades to come
