10/6/26 Worried About Your Memory from 10am-12pm Mount Gambier Library. This session provides information on memory and common changes that may occur with ageing. It provides strategies for improving memory, when to seek help about your concerns and services provided by Dementia Australia. Dementia Australia’s facilitators have specialist knowledge, skills and experience.
Suitable for: People who are concerned about their memory and thinking or are worried that someone they know may have dementia.
10/6/26 Understanding Dementia from1pm-3.30pm Mount Gambier Library. This session provides an introduction to dementia including an overview of different types of dementia, diagnosis, planning ahead and how to support someone living with dementia. You will gain knowledge in: - types of dementia, signs and symptoms - the experience of living with dementia - available services and where to access support.
Suitable for: People recently diagnosed with dementia, their family carers, family members, and people who are concerned they or someone they know may have dementia.
11/6/26 Strengthening Connections from 10am -12.30pm City Hall Mount Gambier - Come along for a relaxed morning with Dementia Advocates and fellow community members from Mount Gambier. Patrick a member of the Dementia Australia Advisory Committee (DAAC), will share his personal journey of living well with dementia, showing that no one need face it alone. Patrick was diagnosed with young onset dementia in his 50s and is passionate about inspiring others and challenging stigma. This event is part of a national initiative to bring people living with dementia, their families, and carers together-especially in regional areas-to reduce isolation and strengthen local support. This is a welcoming space to share stories, make new connections, and feel part of a supportive community that understands.
