Moruya Rodeo New Years Day - Moruya Showgrounds The annual Moruya Rodeo is held on New Year's Day and is in the Southern Zone of the ABCRA.

The Rodeo Association of Moruya Inc is an affiliated club with the Australian Bushmen’s Campdraft and Rodeo Association (ABCRA). Competitors compete in the ABCRA for National Awards as well as in the Southern Zone. All Rodeos in the ABCRA run under a code of practice for welfare of animals.

Kimberlee and Frosty from the Moruya Rodeo Committee were lucky enough to catch up in early February with bull contractors Chad Drury and Addi Drury from Nothin' But Try Ranch and Event Center, along with world No.1 PBR rider Dalton Kasel, while they were in town for PBR – Unleash the Beast in Sacramento 🇺🇸

Very grateful for the time to swap stories and gain insight into how they run such a high-calibre operation, producing some truly sensational bulls.

A massive thank you to Chad, Addi, and Dalton for taking time out of their busy schedules to chat with us 🙌🐂

Eurobodalla Ag Show Rodeo 2026

Thank you to our committee members, judges, announcers, competitors and anyone who jumped in to help make Saturday night’s rodeo run smoothly.

Our new hat patches definitely sold out quicker than expected! We were so excited to see everyone repping theirs on the day at our New Year’s Rodeo, especially since this was our very first year designing hat patches and selling them as Moruya Rodeo merch.

A few more photos from our New Year’s Day Rodeo, where we were incredibly proud to recognise Peter Knight (aka Flapper) with Life Membership of the Moruya Rodeo Committee.

Peter has been part of Moruya Rodeo since the late 1970s and has served as Treasurer since 1981. From keeping the club’s finances in top shape to being first to working bees and staying back long after the crowds go home, Peter has been a true backbone of our committee.

Over the years, Peter has also lent his skills to countless projects around the grounds. Helping build stockyards, sheds, and grandstand improvements and has always stepped in wherever help was needed, often without fuss or recognition.

Respected, reliable, and much loved by all, Peter’s contribution to Moruya Rodeo goes far beyond any single role. We thank him sincerely for a lifetime of service and everything he has given to our club.
