Essendon Choral Society ECS is a mixed amateur choir with singers of all ages performing sacred & secular works. The choir rehearses on Tuesday nights from 7.15 p.m.

The Essendon Choral Society is a choir based in the community of Moonee Valley (formerly the City of Essendon) which performs a variety of sacred and secular works. in the St Thomas' Anglican Church, 760 Mt Alexander Rd, Moonee Ponds Vic 3039. New singers are always welcome. There is no audition.

Come and join us for a hearty sing (choral score hire included in ticket price) and sit back and listen to fabulous Soloists - Heulen Cynfal, Cen Wei, Hartley Trusler and Caroline Vercoe, and Orchestra from Melbourne Opera conducted by Greg Hocking and Ellery Durrant and accompanied by Christopher Cook on the Church's Fuller pipe organ

Thanks to the many hands who contributed to our recent concert.
🎶🎶🎶🎶
Our concert Celebrating Young Musicians on Sat 5 September presented a variety of music, including Schubert's Mass in G which featured soloists from the choir.
We were also fortunate to have three solo performances - a local VCE Music student Raissa, our Musical Director Ellery Durrant, and our guest Organist Peter Guy.
A sumptuous afternoon tea was provided by choir members, CWA volunteers and St Thomas' parishioners.
We especially want to thank the generous and welcoming community at St Thomas' Anglican Church Moonee Ponds for their continued support.

At our "Concert to Celebrate our Volunteers" on Sunday we were given an envelope. Inside the envelope was a newspaper clipping from 1979 calling for a meeting to form what became Essendon Choral Society.

Public Meeting for Formation of Choral Society
All interested in the formation of an Essendon Choral Society are invited to a meeting to be held in the Civic Centre, cnr Kellaway Avenue and Pascoe Vale Road, Moonee Ponds, on Tuesday, 13 March, 1979 at 8pm.
Business will include discussion of aims of Essendon Choral Society, election of office-bearers and time and place for rehearsals.

The first Secretary was John (Jack) Grant and his son, Bruce, was the bearer of this precious envelope! Thank you for looking after our history, Bruce!

Also at our concert was Pat Baudinette, one of those foundation members, along with her husband, Neil, who instigated the original meeting!
