Quinns Mindarie Surf Life Saving Club Official page of Quinns Mindarie Surf Life Saving Club - QMSLSC In 1982 the Quinns Rocks Surf Life Saving Club was formed.

The first club-room was a small shed donated by the local authority. This was quickly outgrown and a larger shed paid for and built by the members. This shed was to become the club's home for the next 15 years. During this time the club changed it's name to the Quinns Mindarie Surf Life Saving Club. In early 2005 after many years of negotiations with the City of Wanneroo the club was able to move into the purpose built club-rooms that we occupy today. This project was made possible by monies from the City of Wanneroo, Mirvac Fini and a Lotterywest grant through SLSWA. We now proudly boast a growing membership base, from our Woodside Nipper program, youth development and Patrolling members, QMSLSC provides an essential service to the Quinns Mindarie community, through our engaging and supportive club.

Well, the weather certainly threw everything it had at us for our first day back! 🌊💨🌧️

Stingers, waves, wind and rain… we had the lot! But none of that could wipe the smiles off our Nippers’ faces. Seeing everyone back on the beach, catching up with friends and giving everything a go made it all worthwhile! ❤️💛

And what a busy morning it was!

Our skis headed out for an early morning ocean cruise, our beachies squeezed in some extra flag practice, our new youth members kicked off their first SRC training session, and we even managed to fit in our first beach run and swim of the season!

The beach was absolutely buzzing, and it was so good to see it come alive again.

A massive thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who made today possible. From our Age Group Managers and water safety teams to our patrol members, drone pilot and everyone who lent a hand throughout the morning, we couldn’t do it without you.

And a special shout-out to all those working behind the scenes over the past few weeks to get everything ready for the season. There’s so much that goes into getting Nippers back on the beach, and we really appreciate the time and effort you’ve all put in.

We know there were a few first-day teething issues, so thank you to all our families for your patience and understanding while we got things sorted. We really appreciate it!

Now, can everyone please send some positive vibes for a little more sunshine next Sunday? ☀️😂

We can’t wait to do it all again next week!

Tomorrow is the day! ❤️💛

After months of waiting, we’re finally ready to welcome everyone back for our first Nippers session of the season, and we can’t wait to see you all!

A few things to help us get off to a great start tomorrow.

Firstly, we know it’s probably going to be a little chaotic! Despite all our planning and best efforts, we’ve got lots of new families joining us and returning members finding their feet again. Please be patient, be kind and remember that everyone helping to get Nippers up and running is a volunteer, giving up their own time to make this happen for our kids. A little patience and a friendly smile go a long way!

A few things to remember for tomorrow:

❤️ Nippers packs and yellow vests: If you collected yours on Friday, thank you! Please make sure your Nipper arrives wearing their yellow vest and their coloured cap.

💛 Where to go: Head to your age group flag, which matches your Nipper’s cap colour. Please be on the grass, ready to go by 8.45am.

❤️ The weather: Sunday’s forecast isn’t looking too flash, so pack some warm jumpers and towels to keep everyone warm and dry. We’ve waited too long for this day to let a bit of weather spoil our fun!

💛 Need a hand with anything? Please come down a little earlier if you have questions or need help sorting something out. Our volunteers will all be busy getting their groups ready, so the earlier we can help you, the better chance we have of getting everything sorted before we start.

❤️ Preliminary swims and evaluations: If your Nipper hasn’t completed their preliminary swim or had their evaluation signed off, please let your Age Group Manager (AGM) know as soon as possible. Unfortunately, they won’t be able to participate in water activities until this is completed.

And of course, our canteen will be open and the BBQ fired up, ready to fill those hungry bellies!

Most importantly, we’re just so excited to have everyone back together on the beach. It’s going to be a great season, and we can’t wait to get started.

See you all tomorrow, Quinns families! ❤️💛 # #

Nipper's next on the to do list is to collect your nippers pack!

With our first Sunday of Nippers nearly here, come down and collect your pack this Friday 16 October, between 4pm and 8pm at the club.

Your pack includes your Woodside Nippers vest and age group cap. You’ll need both to take part on Sunday, so make sure you pick yours up.

We’d love you to hang around for a bit too. It’s a chance to meet your AGMs, catch up with familiar faces and get to know a few new families before the season starts.

The bar will be open and we’ll have burgers and a sausage sizzle on the BBQ, so come down hungry and make an evening of it. You’ll be supporting the club while you’re there.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Friday ready for our first nippers session on Sunday 18th October!!

It might not feel much like summer just yet, but patrols are back at Quinns Beach this weekend!

Our volunteer lifesavers will be on the beach every weekend and public holiday from 8am to 4pm, keeping an eye on the water and helping everyone enjoy our beautiful beach safely.

A big thank you to all our returning patrolling members who give up their own time to look after our community. It’s a big commitment, and we’re so grateful for the time and effort they put in, season after season.

And to everyone heading down to the beach, don’t be shy! If you’ve got a question about the beach or conditions, come over and ask. Or even just stop by to say hello. Our volunteers spend a lot of hours watching the water, and a friendly face and a quick chat can really make their day.

And a little reminder to always swim between the red and yellow flags. They mark the safest area of the beach for swimming, where our lifesavers can provide the best supervision and respond quickly if someone needs help.

We can’t wait to see everyone back on the beach. Now let’s just hope the summer sunshine decides to join us too! ☀️

NIPPERS SWIM PROFICIENCY – THIS SUNDAY!

We’re almost ready to kick off another fantastic Nippers season, but first there’s one very important thing to tick off!

Every Nipper MUST complete their swim proficiency assessment before they can participate in any ocean-based activities.

This isn’t a swimming test! It’s about confirming each Nipper’s proficiency level against Surf Life Saving WA requirements so we can keep everyone safe and having fun in the water.

📅 Sunday 11 October 2026
⏰ 8:00 am – 11:30 am (see your age group’s allocated time below)
📍 HBF Arena, Joondalup

A few important reminders:

* All Nippers must complete their assessment before entering the ocean for Nippers activities.
* Your child must be a paid financial member of the club to participate.
* Please check the timetable for your child’s age group and allocated start time.

⚠️ Haven’t sorted your membership yet? Please get in touch with us ASAP at [email protected] so we can help get everything organised.

We can’t wait to see all our Nippers back in the water for another brilliant season!!!

A huge congratulations to our newest qualified IRB Drivers — Lily, Hannah, Ellie, JV, Keir and Daniel — and to Washington, who has also completed his IRB Driver Assessor qualification! 👏

This crew has put in countless hours over the past few weeks, training, practising and building their skills — and we couldn’t be prouder of them all.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped get them there, including the trainers, trainee trainers and assessors from Quinns, Mullaloo Surf Life Saving Club, Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club WA and Fremantle Surf Life Saving Club who gave their time, knowledge and experience throughout the training and assessments. It’s a great example of our surf lifesaving clubs working together to build skills and capability across our beaches.

With patrol season kicking off this weekend, we can’t wait to see our new drivers out on the water, putting those skills into action and helping keep our beach and community safe.

Congratulations team, what a fantastic achievement and a brilliant way to start the season!

A big thank you to Global Marine Enclosures for supporting Quinns Mindarie for another season!

They’ve been a longstanding supporter of our club, and we’re so grateful to have them on board again.

The team is also scheduled to begin installing the swimming enclosure during 12–16 October, weather permitting, with the aim of having it ready for our first Nippers session on 18 October.

We feel very lucky to have a swimming enclosure right here at our beach for our Nippers, families and the wider community to enjoy.

Thank you to the Global Marine Enclosures team for your continued support. We’re looking forward to another summer at Quinns!
