A great day out at the Rugby WA Grand Finals!

Last week, the EAT Food Trailer was out in the community serving up crowd favourites and being part of the action at the Rugby WA Grand Finals 2026.

Events like these are a great opportunity for us to connect with the community while creating meaningful, real-world employment opportunities.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported EAT on the day! đź’š

Creating employment opportunities through community.

Last year, a group of young people joined us for two days of hands-on learning, new experiences and career exploration. đź’š

Rather than just talking about different pathways, they had the opportunity to try new things, meet different people, ask questions and experience different types of work firsthand.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time, shared their experience and helped create these opportunities. Your involvement made these two days possible.

It’s experiences like these that can help young people discover their strengths, explore what’s possible and build confidence for their future.

This is what Empowering Abilities Together is all about. Creating opportunities, building connections and empowering people to discover what’s possible. 💚

Behind the scenes before the big event!

Meaningful employment isn’t always about finding the right job vacancy. Sometimes, it’s about creating the right opportunity.

That’s the idea behind Customised Employment.

Instead of trying to fit a person into an existing job description, Customised Employment starts by understanding their strengths, interests, skills and conditions for success, then exploring how these can meet genuine needs within a workplace.

Sometimes, that means looking at different tasks across existing roles and identifying an opportunity to bring them together in a way that works for both the person and the employer.

It changes the question from:

“Which available job can this person do?”

to:

“What can this person contribute, and where could those strengths add value?”

Through Discovery, workplace exploration and conversations with employers, we can uncover opportunities that may not be found through traditional job searching.

Because meaningful employment doesn’t always mean fitting into an existing role.

Sometimes, it’s about creating an opportunity where someone’s strengths can shine.

A work in progress. I can’t wait to show off the finished product once we get there. Thanks to the team for their hard work - Cam and Stacy need a special mention 👍
