⚠️📢 SCHOOL CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENT 📢🌪

Due to severe weather conditions of Cyclone Alfred, Merrimac State High School will be CLOSED on Thursday 6 March & Friday 7 March 2025.

The safety of our students, staff, and community is our top priority, and this decision has been made in consultation with emergency services and The Queensland Department of Education.

🔹 Absences during this time will not be recorded on student report cards.
🔹 We will provide updates on our reopening as soon as possible.
🔹 Stay informed by checking closures.qld.edu.au and monitoring local emergency service updates.

Please stay safe, look after your families, and remember - if it’s flooded, forget it!

When: Sunday 21 July, 9am to 1pm

Where: Benowa State Primary School, Gold Coast

🐾 Santa will be there for photos with your pup and will be giving out treats too!

🐾 FREE parking on site and in the surrounding streets

🐾 Over 70 stalls including treats, meals, vets, supplements, clothing, skincare, accessories, artists, photography, dog walkers/sitters, vets, trainers, therapies and lots more

🐾 Dog friendly - must be leash at all times

The Gold Coast’s answer to Central Park is starting to take shape with construction underway at the Greenheart site in Robina to create a 252-hectare park! The first stage includes:

🎈 A fully fenced playground
💧 Water play area
🧘‍♂️ Yoga lawn
☕ Café and separate amenities which include accessible facilities
🍔 Barbecues, picnic tables and shelters
🌳 Events lawn
⚽ Balls sports area
🏋️‍♂️ Outdoor gym
🛴 Scooter and bike track
🐶 Fenced dog off-leash area
🅿️ Car parking and bus set down area.
