This year for IDAHOBIT we found ourselves at the Australian Airports Association conference in Sydney.
We delivered a presentation to reps from all over the country about the challenges of navigating through airports for Trans and Gender Diverse travellers.

Although this may not have felt like the most comfortable room to be in, a good friend reminded us that it's in these rooms that meaningful change can start.

Thank you to everyone who supported us to get here and to all the TGDV folks who shared their experiences - here's to a more inclusive future 🤞🏳️‍⚧️⚧️✈️

Get Your Kicks (GYK) is a local walking soccer club for women and gender diverse people of the Bega Valley - a unique, safe and welcoming environment for people to lean into a sporting culture that can often feels intimidating and exclusive.

We are getting behind GYK's fundraiser to GIVE A KICK for Ovarian Cancer - for the first 21 days of February we are asking folks to grab-a-ball or bust-a-move and help raise money and awareness so together we can make a difference.

Nearly 2,000 people are diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer each year. In 2023, Sal Davis (nee Shipard), local legend and GYK founder was one of those people diagnosed.

Sal’s diagnosis was a reminder that ovarian cancer doesn’t care about how old you are or how healthy you may be. It is hard to detect, has limited treatment options and poor survival outcomes.
And while Sal’s story has been scary and life-changing in so many ways we are all too aware that her journey has unfolded better than most.

The Give a Kick for Ovarian Cancer campaign is all about:
1) raising awareness around the symptoms and significance of Ovarian Cancer with hopes that if we know better we can act sooner;

2) raising money to further research and support with all funds going directly to Ovarian Cancer Australia (OCA) so they can continue to do their important work.

The rain started and hasn't stopped!

The surf conditions for this weekend are unfortunately terrible, so we have had to make the sad but necessary call to postpone tomorrows lesson.

New date to be announced in the coming days so watch this space and keep the hype alive!

Join us this Saturday 8th of Feb at 2pm to support, celebrate and protect trans youth.
Events are happening simultaneously all over the continent in response to the QLD governments decision to withdraw hormone therapy for young trans people.

We will be at the covered area near the toilet blocks.
Wheelchair accessible and all gender bathrooms.

There will be snacks, banner painting and activities. As well as resource and information sharing and ways you can activate and respond as allies, to support and advocate for you trans people.

We will be set up in the space to the left as you enter the car park, right next to the coffee van - which will be closed :(
