Less than four weeks to go until our 2026 NvS Battle Final hits The Corner Hotel… and things are already getting interesting.🔥

Right now, Richmond Primary has thrown down the gauntlet and currently owns HALF THE ROOM.

Who’s going to do something about it? 🤨

With 550 hours still on the clock, this leaderboard could look VERY different come next week and the week after, and the week after that!

Band reps & musos, school communities, friends, families, neighbours, keenly interested acquaintances… you know what to do. 🎫🎟️🎫🎟️🎫🎟️🎫

Because this Battle deserves a PACKED house.

We’ll update the leaderboard each week as we count down to September 10, so there’s plenty of time to shake things up.

The 2026 Hills edition had its own kind of magic, and everyone in the room felt it.✨

The stage at Sooki may be small, but the energy was massive, the performances were epic, the support amongst bands enormous and a crowd that gave everything right back in a big way.

Selby Primary’s Life Education Band hit the Parents Battle of the Bands stage for the very first time last night… and landed a podium finish at the 2026 Yarra Ranges Battle. 🥈🔥

What a crew and what a way to introduce themselves.

The connection on stage was impossible to miss. So much energy, personality, attitude and pure joy in the way they played together. It was pure party vibes.

🏆 PERMISSION: GRANTED. 🎤⚡️

Last night, Ferny Creek Primary’s Permission Slipped took out the Mic Drop Award at the 2026 Yarra Ranges Battle.

And they didn’t just get the judges’ votes. They had the whole room with them, including plenty of love from their fellow bands.

Such great energy, a beautifully put-together set list, tight musicianship and a performance that just landed from start to finish.

They also got our thumbs up for this season’s favourite rendition of “Where Is My Husband?” 🔥👍🏻

Fun, confident, polished ~ a very, very well-deserved win.

Some judging panels just get it. This was one of them. ✨

Such beautiful and special energy, sharp ears, thoughtful observations and genuine enthusiasm for every band that hit the stage.

And the feedback… SO much feedback. 🙌 The kind that goes well beyond a scorecard, with brilliant insights, generous encouragement and plenty for each band to take away with them.

Evidence that getting involved with your school community doesn’t have to involve onions and a folding table outside Bunnings.

Evidence that a school community looks pretty bloody good from behind a drum kit.

Evidence that parents should occasionally be encouraged to make very loud decisions. 🪈

And evidence that Bayside knows exactly how to throw a Battle. 🤘

Four bands. Sold out a month in advance. Lucky 13 Garage absolutely heaving.

Music. Community. A little bit of glorious chaos.

Well, Sandy certainly understood the assignment last Friday night. 🌹

Congratulations to Sandringham Primary’s Leave Pass - Winners of the 2026 Bayside Battle at Lucky 13 Garage.

Dressed to the nines and playing to a completely SOLD OUT room, they packed a ridiculous amount into one set, including an ambitious five-song ’90s medley that never lost its way.

Big grooves, killer vocals, beautifully tight harmonies and a band clearly having an excellent time up there….and judging by the noise in the room, everyone else was too.

Another fiercely contested Battle.

A huge thanks to this excellent crew for stepping in at short notice to join our Inner East Battle judging panel.

With insightful feedback, keen ears and a genuine love of live music, they had the unenviable task of separating four outstanding bands.

The inaugural Inner East Battle was quite possibly one of the most eclectic battles we’ve ever staged. 🎸🔥

The setlists delivered musical whiplash in the best possible way. Spotify’s algorithm would’ve had an absolute meltdown trying to categorise this one.

Pop. Punk. Indie. Hard rock. Soulful ballads. Funky grooves.

One minute it was Spice Girls mash-ups with a life-sized cardboard cut-out of Baby Spice. The next, everyone was belting out Silverchair and Nirvana… before the room fell silent for a goosebump-worthy Whitney Houston moment and capitulated with a funky Bruno Mars groove.

What a way to debut at The Leady! ❤️🤘
