A reflection on a day to remember! ๐๐ค
On an ordinary Saturday afternoon, Keilor Road hummed with its usual rhythm -cars inching forward, cafรฉ chatter spilling out, locals doing their weekend thing.
But long before Keilor Road ever knew what was coming, a journey had already begun.
At pre-dawn in Tootgarook 100 kilometres away Ned and Flynn took their first steps. Steps with purpose. Steps for Josh.
Kilometre after kilometre, they pushed on.
Through quiet stretches of coastline.
Through suburbs slowly waking.
Through fatigue, emotion and sheer determination.
A village, literally on the run.
By the time they reached the edge of Niddrie, the story had grown. Family, friends, teammates & juniors joined in. What began as a handful of runners had become a movement.
And then they turned onto Keilor Road.
The moment their feet hit that familiar strip, something shifted.
Traffic slowed.
Shops emptied onto the footpath.
Cafรฉ tables paused mid-conversation.
This wasnโt just a run.
This was 100 kilometres of love, hope, grit and friendship.
A message carried in motion from Tootgarook to the Nest.
They ran for Josh.
They ran for awareness.
They ran for a cancer-free world.
And as the group surged down Keilor Road toward the Nest, the entire street stood still; proof that when a community comes together, its power can move more than just feet. It can move mountains.
Our Village reached the summit last night and we stopped as one to share the view.
