First Foil Fusion Event - Monday, 1st September 🎉

We are thrilled to share that our inaugural Foil Fusion Event was a fantastic success! 🌟 It was a morning filled with community spirit and collaboration, highlighted by a generous $4,600 grant from Community Bank East Ivanhoe and Heidelberg to kickstart the Chip Packet Project. 🙌

We were delighted to welcome Daniel from Banyule City Council, and Harry from Chappy's Chips, who generously donated bags of chip packets. These contributions are crucial for us to begin creating survival blankets. 🛠️✨

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to our dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly on making the survival blankets. Your hard work is truly appreciated! 💪❤️

A special shoutout to Sweet by Nature for the delicious cakes and slices that made our morning tea extra special. 🍰☕️

We are coming together to make survival blankets for those in need, working hand-in-hand to promote sustainability and uplift our community. Let’s keep this positive energy flowing! 🌍💚

🌟 Welcome to the Chip Packet Project Melbourne (CPPM) page! 🌟

We're thrilled to have you join us on this inspiring journey of creativity, sustainability, and community support! At CPPM, we're turning an everyday item into a powerful tool for change. Did you know that a single chip packet can take up to 80 years to decompose in landfill? 😲 That's why we're on a mission to repurpose these packets into survival sheets (thermal blankets) for those experiencing homelessness or for families who are cold in their own homes. The daily struggle is real with the question grappled ‘do I heat or do I eat’.in Melbourne.

🌍 Here's what you need to know about the Chip Packet Project:

- **Transforming Waste**: We collect empty foil packets, like those your chips come in, and creatively repurpose them into survival sheets. Each sheet requires around 44 chip packets (depending on size of chip packets), which means we're recycling 3,520 years' worth of waste with each creation! 🌟

- **Community Impact**: By providing warmth and comfort, these survival sheets make a real difference in the lives of those living on the streets. 🌧️❤️

✨ Get Involved! ✨
We invite you to join us at our regular Foil Fusion Events, where you can volunteer your time to help create these life-saving sheets. It's a fantastic way to meet like-minded people and contribute to a vital cause!

🔗 How You Can Help:
- Collect and clean your empty chip packets and drop them off at our collection point at Rosanna Fire Station Community House, 232 Lower Plenty Road, Rosanna.
- Volunteer at one of our upcoming Foil Fusion Events and experience the joy of giving back.
- Spread the word about CPPM to your friends and family.

Join our community, make a difference, and let's create together and turn foil packets into hope and warmth
