Last week, members, partners and community leaders came together on Wurundjeri Country for the inaugural joint Aboriginal Children’s and Aboriginal Justice Partnership Forum.
Bringing the two forums together for the first time, the gathering created a unique opportunity to explore how Aboriginal children and young people experience both the child and family services and justice systems, and to identify ways to strengthen collaboration, accountability and support across sectors.
Discussions focused on advancing self-determination, early intervention, sustainable funding, workforce development and stronger ACCO-led services. Together, members shared insights, highlighted challenges and worked towards practical solutions that better meet the needs of Aboriginal children, young people and families.
As we continue this work, our shared commitment remains clear: creating culturally strong, community-led systems where Aboriginal children and young people are safe, connected and empowered to thrive.
