After much deliberation, she has now been officially named SADIE! 😻💗

AFTER A DEVASTATING FEW WEEKS, IT’S TIME FOR A GOOD NEWS STORY!

Remember our tiny babies who needed medical intervention at just 2 weeks of age? 🥹

Our two little tortie girls, who lost part of their back legs due to strangulation, and their ginger brother, who was battling an infection, have come such a long way!

Now 5 weeks old, these precious babies are thriving and running amok, just as kittens should!

All five kittens have now been named Peggy, Trixie, Clem, Daisey & Ace, and they are all doing exceptionally well, as you can see! 🥰

But there is just one little problem… Mum is still waiting for a name..

SADLY, WE LOST OUR BEAUTIFUL PERCY 💔

Sadly, we lost our beautiful, loving, lovable and very quirky boy, Percy. 💔

Percy received his blood transfusion last night, and thankfully, everything went well.

But today, things took a terrible turn.

Percy started having seizures and became non-responsive. Sadly, he passed away before his carers could get to the hospital to say goodbye. 💔

It is so incredibly tough when we lose a cat or kitten, but when we don’t know what caused them to become so sick, it makes it even harder to come to terms with.

We had hoped so desperately that Percy would pull through; we did all we could & gave him every possible chance, but sometimes it's just not enough

Thank you to everyone who sent messages of support, shared Percy’s story, and were able to donate towards his emergency care.

Rest peacefully, beautiful boy. 🌈💔

You left a place in the hearts of so many people, and I am so very sorry we couldn’t save you. 😢

🚨 URGENT – BLOOD DONOR NEEDED FOR PERCY (TYPE A) 🚨

PERCY IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION AT LORT SMITH! 💔

We urgently need people who can stand by and be ready to take their cat/s to Lort Smith Animal Hospital in North Melbourne if a blood donor is required.

If you already know your cat’s blood type, that would be a HUGE bonus

THE DONOR CAT MUST:
*Be over 1 year and under 8 years of age
*Weigh at least 4.5kg
*Be up to date with vaccinations
*Be FIV negative
*Be up to date with parasite treatment

If your cat meets these requirements and you could get to Lort Smith in North Melbourne at short notice, PLEASE COMMENT BELOW.

Percy went from being a perfectly healthy cat to critically ill in 24 hours 💔

As you can see in the photos, Percy is severely jaundiced

Percy was rushed to Lort Smith this morning.

Blood results showed that Percy is severely anaemic, and his total bilirubin is extremely high, he also has an elevated reticulocyte count (immature red blood cells). All of this is pointing towards Haemolytic Anaemia - a condition where Percy’s body is destroying his red blood cells faster than his body can replace them.

We are not sure of the cause. It could be Immune mediated (IMHA), toxins can also cause Haemolytic Anaemia - Percy’s carer is certain that he has not ingested anything toxic

Percy will undergo an Ultrasound & Xray this evening. Further blood work has been done and sent to the lab

We have been quoted $4,000+

🐾 A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO ARC & THEIR WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS! 🐾

We would like to give a HUGE shoutout to ARC and their amazing volunteers for this incredible donation of dry cat food! ❤️🐱

This generous donation will help take some of the pressure off our wonderful Foster Carers, who do so much every single day to care for our rescue cats.

🚨 FOSTER CARER NEEDED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR GORGEOUS GINGER BROTHERS, YOGI & HUMPHREY 🚨

Sometimes, through no one's fault, circumstances change, and families face an incredibly heartbreaking decision. 💔

Four years ago, at just 4 months of age, Yogi & Humphrey were adopted by a wonderful couple.

It was the perfect adoption, and for the past four years, these gorgeous brothers have been very much loved and adored. ❤️

Sadly, their family now have an infant who is severely allergic to Yogi & Humphrey, to the point where their little one is experiencing respiratory issues.

As heartbreaking as it is, they have had no choice but to temporarily send Yogi & Humphrey to a family member.

But this is only a temporary solution, as they can only stay there until October 10th

Their family is absolutely devastated at the thought of having to say goodbye to them. They love these boys dearly and never imagined they would be in this position. 💔

So now WE NEED YOUR HELP.

UPDATE ON OUR LITTLE MAN, OUR LITTLE FIGHTER, KODY 💙

We are very happy to share that our little neo baby, Kody, has been doing exceptionally well

He has stacked on 76 grams since Monday night

Kody is bright, playful and absolutely loves his tucker!

Anna has been doing an amazing job!

Thank you to everyone who sent words of support and contributed to Kody's emergency care..

UPDATE ON SELENE & TAMARA 💜 💜

Selene & Tamara have been in care with a wonderful new carer, Shannon & her partner, for a few weeks now, and they are doing very well!

These 15 year old girls are just delightful and have made themselves right at home in their foster carer's home

Tamara, who has a grade 3/4 heart murmur, will be seeing a cardiologist in the coming weeks so we can determine the cause of the murmur, but she is not showing any signs of issues relating to her heart murmur

I was made aware after we took Selene & Tamara in that they were not surrendered to the vet clinic, they were actually brought in to be PTS, as the people were moving interstate.. AND the owner is actually a retired vet (You have no idea how bloody angry I was)

Fortunately, the lovely staff at the clinic convinced them to surrender them..

We are grateful that we were able to give them a lifeline to live their senior years, loved & cherished, as they should be 💜 💜

LOOKING FOR A FRIEND, FOR YOU OR YOUR CAT? MISSY IS THE ONE

Missy is 11 years old - she was a stray, then in foster care, got adopted but her owner sadly passed away and she came back to foster care. After a few foster carers this sweet and deserving girl is not looking for a lap. She is looking for stability and company.

If you already have a cat at home and have been thinking about a second, Missy is one of the easiest introductions you will ever make. She is gentle with other cats, follows their lead rather than challenging them, plays with the younger ones and grooms her cat friends like it is her job. She has spent her life reading other cats well, and it shows.

With humans, Missy takes her time. She likes being near you in her own quiet way, keeping you company from across the room and watching you with big curious eyes. She will tell you loudly when she is hungry, sit at your feet for treats and lick food straight off your fingers. She has lived with humans for several years now, and so far she has preferred not to be touched by people - her affection is through looks and meows at her human and wanting to spend time in the same space, not touch. We are being upfront about that, because the right home for Missy is one that finds it lovely rather than disappointing.

Her happiest hours are spent curled in a warm patch of sun near her human or cat companions, watching the world go by. Her short coat carries beautiful brown and reddish tones, and with good food supporting her overall health, she is wonderfully low shed, so your clothes and your couch will thank you. She is clean, quiet and well mannered, the kind of cat who simply fits into a household without rearranging it.

Missy needs a peaceful home with adults or teenagers, and would be happy to share with at least one resident cat to keep her company. If she has company, a sunny window and patient humans who let her come to them in her own time, she will settle in and stay settled for the rest of her days.

CATS: Missy gets along with other cats, but could also enjoy being a solo cat
DOGS: Not tested
CHILDREN: Best suited to an adult home, or one with respectful teenagers
